This gets my vote for most random thread of all time!

As far as DF being a blue-blood?

What if we were to define it as a team that peaks, has a period of declination, and then rises again?

:? By that definition, I'm not sure Byrnes makes it in yet.

I'm mostly kidding.

My only prayer was that it be any team except Byrnes. The thought of having to read the non-stop chirping from Colby was more that any sane human could endure...."Knotts was always scared of Byrnes/Bentley.

I've done my job then Oldman. I've done my job. You shoulda been around the gang in the PFT days. We ran the moderators off..
Haha, yes, it was all of us though, not just the Byrnes boyz.
I 3rd the motion. Those were the days. The moderators definitely just gave up and let the inmates run the asylum. I was bragging about it two days ago in a political debate group on FB. Someone commented on the level of toxicity in one of the threads. I told him our old football board was a border town compared to relative timidity of a post-T political discussion. Related the story of B1's 15,000 page fight! Was it really 15,000 pages? It seems like he had to show me the newspaper clipping about it before I believed it.

And that was before I got there. EGodz! The story lines of my 1st five years on that board alone could fill an encyclopedia. And all the stuff that went on behind the scenes was even more interesting. I don't know if you're lucky or unlucky that you weren't around for that Dfold. Some of it's archived in The Corner but the skeleton crew will probably agree that it isn't even half a percent of the insanity that ensued week after week. And that's just the stuff that I remember. And the stuff that I remember is probably 1% of the threads I actually had time to read.

Anyone remember when SLICK trolled the entire 2A classification? Man it was a thing of beauty.

If Colby has you in Knotts, then you truly have not looked into the abyss because it definitely looked back at you! When this site was created I swore many times I'd never go back to PFT but it took an utter collapse of the site to break me of it in the end. Oh, some days I'd actually be nervous about logging in and even then I'd be squinting at what would be waiting for me. It was the odd day when there wasn't a monkey sht fight.

We actually had a "War Room" off site on another secret bulletin board for special times when someone like Ddub came along and tried to disrupt our anarchy. We'd meet up there on special occasions to coordinate between all the fanbases that hated each other in order to drive off foreign invaders. There were only about half a dozen of us that knew it ever existed. On PFT it looked like brilliant improvisation when it fact, a lot of the best content was coordinated and scripted like a good WWF cage match.

I'll say there will never again be anything like that place. Great memories though. We pulled off some awesome stuff. Including getting ourselves on the news presenting a custom plaque to the wife of a Bearcat who'd died of cancer the previous season along with a check to her for $700 I think that everyone pitched in for.

And yes, Penguin was even more outrageous then than he is now. SLICK has mellowed too. Not too many posters had entire threads dedicated to him but Penguin was one.

I think it was Dostoyevsky who said that the line between good and evil runs down the center of every human heart. And it reaches all the way to Hell and all the way to Heaven at the same time.

Not a bad description of the old site.

I got banned over there 5 or 6 different times. I would just create a new persona and come back stronger than ever. I did manage to get re-instated one time after the mods reviewed what led me to go off on that little runt from burnz. I ran his gimlet arse right off this board when he decided to come over. I met him in person at Dorman one night. He was just about belt high to me. I asked him why his arse was built so close to the sidewalk? Was it so he didn't have far to fall when he got into a fight? Those were the days

Yeah, I still remember my first impression of you. For the longest time I associated you with Dubya picking his nose!

I had to laugh out loud when I read that first sentence there! Geez! How did you manage to get banned from PFT once? Not to mention half a dozen times? I must have come along after the moderators gave up. If I admired anything about you it was definitely how you could hold your own as a devout liberal on a conservative football board.

I was just thinking back on that Bobby Thompson plaque.

Dfoldman, you might think SLICK and Penguin despicable souls. Or as RF74 always called him, a "rascal". But I can swear with my hand on the Bible. When the idea was first floated to take up donations for Bobby Thompson's family, SLICK and Penguin went from bullying fans about their favorite teams to bullying them to send in money for Bobby's family. Their bullying in that thread was probably responsible for 25% of the donations that were sent in. They hammered every poster that did not reach into their pockets for Mr. Thompson.

It's been said before. I'll say it again. Some atheists are better Christians than most Christians.

1CatFan, there's already been some monkey business with this thread. You better get your licks in because it's on a one way street to the cul-de-sac.

Tennessee fan!? Definitely a bad week for Ddub.
Nevermind. I missed that one.

I think I just found the perfect avatar for Ddub.

Like my own, it's also a Looney Tunes character.

I think we are all deeply concerned about the well-being of Dub. Some of you may not know, not only is he a Daniel fan, but a Tennessee fan as well. With that in mind, I envision Dub in a scenario similar to Captain Benjamin Willard's hotel scene from Apocalypse Now...a whisky soaked, hallucinogenic stupor. Knowing this, we should employ some Trauma Informed Intervention techniques...but it's Dub, so no such luck. Toughen up buttercup.

That being said, losing is part of life and we need to use this as a mentoring opportunity. Speaking for myself, I knew the old adage was true, "You can't win them all."- and I knew someone would beat Dutch Fork. My only prayer was that it be any team except Byrnes. The thought of having to read the non-stop chirping from Colby was more that any sane human could endure...."Knotts was always scared of Byrnes/Bentley...Knotts couldn't hold Bentley's jockstrap..."...on and on. I could handle anyone else...Fort D, Sumter, Gaffney Spartanburg, Summerville (well...maybe not Summerville, but just about anyone). Thankfully, it was Gaffney.

With this in mind Dub, every cloud has a silver lining. So does this one. Be glad it was Powdersville, instead of say The Eagles...then you would have had to listen to those two insufferable dullards from Beaufort, The Wit Brothers (Nit and Dim). They would never STFU. I've learned in life over numerous decades concerning matters far worse than the outcome of a football game, that crow tastes better with some salt and pepper. I came and got mine after the State Title. Bon Appetit.

Fear The Fox...
I really don't get the impression that this is going to be a learning moment for him. How old is this guy?
