Spartanburg - the backup QB from last year will be the starter from everything that I know, he is the real deal and will only be a Jr this season, Viking fans are gonna be in for a treat with him.

Byrnes - Should be a 2 man race at this point, from what I know a new kid moved in, and you still have the back up from last year.

Dorman - no idea

Gaffney - whoever they can get in the portal 😂
Make that 2 kids moved in..Spartanburgs last year freshman has transferred to Byrnes.A big blow for the Vikings because this kid is fast and something special.Probably another AJ Green from DutchFork ..
Heard Spartanburg was trying to replace him with another freshman RB from right down the road…
Also heard the same thing, if true that will be huge

Lots of teams are gonna have a new face at QB when the season rolls around. Does anyone have any idea of who will be the starting QB for teams like Spartanburg, Gaffney, Dorman, or Byrnes?
Spartanburg is going to have an outstanding Quarterback but the question is the running backs.Superstar freshmen transferred to Byrnes so just got see what’s what!!

If you're talking RB, then the question is that SHS Fr RB done after the bust in the cafeteria? Or is that going to be swept under the rug?

Appler graduated for DF and went on to Florida Atlantic. This season at QB, Hunt is a transfer from the New England area, and saw a good bit of playing time while Appler was injured last season and may be the favorite to be the starter. Underclassmen Offing and Smith will be hard to keep off the field. I believe Offing is the QB of the future for DF, he is special and Smith is a ball player and he will be playing somewhere for the Silver Foxes- he's a gamer. Quality depth at QB is a good "problem" to have. They will have good receivers and TEs to throw the ball to during the coming season.

How's the rest of the team looking this spring? I know the defense has a ton of talented younger players

Should be strong again this season. Lost key players from last season, but have a whole lot coming back...OL and DL are loaded and deep. Big, fast and strong. Good group at WR and TE returning with Hamilton the go to receiver- expect another big season, as we should be throwing the ball a little more this season if the QBs stay healthy. RB will be handled by Lodge and Anderson- excellent 1-2 punch to replace Green. Aside from the loss of Green and Danley, I think the biggest loss for DF was at LB with Perry, Hinton and Buetow graduating. They were the best set of LBs in the state. That being said, we have back ups that should fill in great and I expect a DE or two to be moved to LB as the DL is deep. I expect Raleigh Salters to have a breakout season at LB...watch for him. At DB we lost Danley at safety but we have a strong group of DBs returning with size and speed to match...Defense will be rock solid again. Add the fact that the JV team last season went 8-0 and outscored opponents 342-7. I expect a team on par with last season's team and anything short of a trip to the state title game will be a bit of a surprise but you never know...have to wait and see.

I wouldn’t worry too much about DF. It will be DF and everybody else lagging behind again this year.

Won't Dutch Fork be in the lower state this year? I think someone told me the winner of their region goes lower state instead of upper state like last season.

On a separate point it seems like 5A in the upper state is wide open this season, a lot of really good teams.

And now I've been told he has left the state all together...... tried to move on to Fairforest, but I guess that wasn't far enough.

Must a new Charlie Daniels versus to this old song....
