Summerville gets a rematch with Ashley Ridge that we just played last week and squeaked out a 6 point win(39-33) in the pouring rain. I hate rematches....Gaffney and Boiling Springs playing again in the 1st round after their defenseless game(59-54 Gaffney) with the winner coming to Summerville hopefully. Could it be another Gaffney and Summerville matchup in the playoffs???
Did you get to go to the Summerville at Bluffton game?

I was receiving texts from that one, must have been an exciting game.
Bluffton jumped out to an early lead? Summerville came storming back?
That one is worth a NEW TOPIC.

PLEASE keep in mind that these PROJECTED Brackets are just that, "PROJECTED".
They are *UNOFFICIAL*.

This is like making out your "List to Santa" and waking up Christmas morning to see if you got what was on your list.

Thirty years ago, local newspapers would have your points and possible points posted heading into the last game(s).
This service is no longer provided. We are merely making an attempt to fill that VOID.

Calculating some of the out-of-state schools point values can be pretty tricky when you have to rely on the internet as your main source.
Requests for "Official" point values for these schools have come up empty.

"OFFICIAL" brackets should be posted here sometime after 10 am or 11am.

The Herald Journal projected bracket is hilariously bad. Did they just draw names out of a hat?

I hope this becomes the official bracket. It would be a pretty good draw for Sumter, who not to mention is rolling, and is still undefeated at the newly named Freddie Solomon Field.

Mauldin is by no means an easy draw! You have been warned

Thats true and we love a challenge, but unlike region 2, Sumter does have a defense :D and I will be doggone if a team comes into Sumter Memorial Stadium and puts up 83 against our defense.

We'll back up on you in a week. We'll find out this week whether Region 2 lacks defense or just have superior Offenses.

Mauldin-Sumter and Gaffney-Boiling Springs are the games to be at this week, in my humble opinion.

Don't be so sure..... I don't think it is so much that Region 2 doesn't have any defense as much as Region 2 has some great offensive talent!

I've watched Mauldin twice I've left more impressed each time. Massey will be a challenge for AND DEFENSE and he is not a one man show. He can be, but there are other talented players on that team as well. Now, they don't have a great defense at Mauldin, but they do have one heck of an offensive machine. You can be like Richland NE was back in 2005 if you want, but don't say you were not warned.

Footnote: 2005 Richland NE kept telling the Rebels "YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED AGAINST A DEFENSE LIKE THIS!" telling us how many D1 prospects they had, etc. 51-6 Final Rebels. Our "Defense" got quite upset with them... told them "Our Offense plays against a great Defense every day at practice!"
.

It's a little insulting to those Region 2 offense as well. The implication is that Byrnes, Gaffney, Mauldin, and Boiling Springs only put up big points because the defenses are horrible.
