Why would they use max preps? So many inaccuracies on that site. That’s a California based site that has zero clue about what is going on in this state. Daniel drops every week in their poll for the last 5 years, despite winning every week for the last 5 years.
Massey is not much better this year. They have Northwestern as a 4A team and Daniel as a 3a team.

Because the SCHSL isn't capable of figuring anything out on their own? I mean, do you really think they care? They just want the money.

Wouldn't be hard to make a system for our state, based on the criteria they want, but they don't care. If they wanted to pay me, I could write a program that would track it all and update as the season went along, but I wouldn't do it cheap.

And many folks thought this was "way too complicated".

Margin of victory might be in their equation but it’s never helped the Daniel lions and they have put the beat down on more teams by more points than anyone in the state since 2018.
