I have followed Greenwood football for probably longer than you have been around. I still have family there too. So, don’t try to con me when you haven’t beaten these teams in the playoffs when it counted. No championships in the Big 16 or in the Big AAAA! It has been a new culture that even a new coach can’t fix if you don’t have the talent. A Volkswagen will not beat a Porsche in a race!
Why couldn't Pippin win championships at South Aiken or North Augusta? They were in lower classifications.

Think of how good Greenwood would be if the talent pool between Emerald and Greenwood were combined. Then you might have a chance to be competitive again. Imagine if Gage Cervenka had played at Greenwood. You have lost players like that to Emerald. These were the heart and soul of Greenwood once upon a time. Sorry if you don’t agree with me but if I were trying to evaluate if I wanted to come to Greenwood I would wait to see where to New realignment placed them first.
We had 2 schools. Emerald was a high school in 2000. We'll see. Leave it there.

You are not from Greenwood. Everyone knows that Emerald won a state championship in 1998. Smh!

Use to live in a house own by Red Pinson, then moved to the Villas. Use to spend my nights dancing at the Thunderbird to the sounds of Furman Corley and would go get a Dixie double cheeseburger half and half. Finis Horne and Jeff May were/are good friends. Went to St Marks Church where I got married back in 82’. Bought my first house in the Harris Mill village on Beacon Street. I think that is enough for you to know that I lived in Greenwood. Also Frank Hill was a very dear family friend!

Well, you should have known that Frank Hill won a title in 1998.

I never said that I didn’t know Frank did win a State Championship the same year that Greenwood Also won. I just didn’t remember what year it was. It was a unbelievable run he had those last 5 games. He sat with my parents at dinner the night before he died.

i am confident he will land on his feet and do very well whatever he choose’s to do. He has a beautiful grandchild that I am sure he will want to spend time with. Coaching takes away a lot from the family. Best wishes to Greenwood and reaching the dreams you have for your team!
