Most high schools aren't big fans of GCA and how they operate - I'd doubt any of them would let GCA use their field.
FACT

No traditional HS should do anything that helps Gray, Legion or Oceanside. If they want to beat their chests about how they are so different and not like the traditional public schools they can figure out their own stadium and not expect a helping hand from the teams they try to take athletes from.

So I read in an article that Benedict told GCA they wanted a flat rate of 10K to be able to use their stadium this year. I wonder how much of that was maybe put on by the SCHSL or is their more to the story than what is being let on

i am no math whiz, but it looks to me
they are saving a bunch of money
playing in Newberry.
When the stadium renovations are finished at Newberry College, I hope they will get consideration for hosting the 1A and 2A title games. The upgraded Setzler Field is going to be nice!
I'd Prefer New Berry Facilities over Benedict's any day. Will probably see 1A and 2A eventually moved to the Panthers 10,000 seat Practice Facility once it is opened

I was shocked by how close this game was. Was GCA better than expected or did Abbeville have an off night.

1 GCA td was set up by a Panther fumble in their own territory. Another drive was helped by an Abbeville player getting an unsportsmanlike for spiking the ball after a possible int was broken up by a GCA WR. GCA didn't stop Abbeville once the entire game.

Isn’t a fumble recover a defensive stop?

That’s what I thought. But Gray was really slept on coming in with 3(2 due to a win gained by forfeit) losses on the season but loses were to a 5A White Knoll program before they lost their quarterback and a really good Gilbert team as well. Not many really paid attention to the offensive power at Gray.
