Dillon was up 28-7 at the half and only scored 7 points the second half. Dillon defense accounted for 2 TD's.
Special Teams continues to be Dillon's achilles heel. Valiant effort by May River 2nd half. The Aynor loss has become a little clearer.

May River clawed back but fell seven points short as visiting Dillon won the SCHSL Class AAA Lower State championship 35-28 on Friday.

The Sharks (10-3) pride themselves on their rushing game, but four turnovers put them in a 28-7 hole by halftime. To make matters worse, junior quarterback Ahmad Green, who entered the game with more than 1,000 yards rushing and passing, left with a hamstring injury in the midst of their comeback.

Despite getting outscored 21-7 in the second half, Dillon will make its eighth consecutive state championship game appearance.

“I told the guys, ‘Don’t look back on what you wish you would’ve done. Go back and remember how much you fought in the second half,’” Sharks coach Rodney Summers said. “They made it a respectable ball game and had a chance to win it at the end. We had an opportunity and that’s all you can ask. I’m really proud of them.”

Dillon's playoff games have been barn burners. Wade Hampton, Gilbert and May River definitely challenged Dillon.
