Re: Greenwood
I don't have to check. I know those guys applied, just like I know of one who's being interviewed currently. A championship coach is a championship coach. With no true ties to the Greenwood tradition or really no dog in the fight you consistently pop up in related threads. Your guy is gone to his next endeavor. You don't have to keep popping up. You can follow that now.Damefan wrote:You can check I am sure to confirm this, but Pippin beat out Rusty Charpia for the job not Strickland or Nickles.eagle93 wrote:I knew it wouldn't be long until you arrived. @eagle93 Lets get one thing perfectly clear, I don’t have any guy and I have more ties to Greenwood with family and friends living there than you know so worry about finding your new coach so you can complain about him if things don’t pan out. I already told you months ago you were going to be in AAAA and you wanted to argue. That is all you know how to do is complain and blame. Go get a job as a coach with the next coach as a volunteer. I am sure he needs your wisdom and knowledge on how to do things. You will run him off if he doesn’t do it your way anyhow!
Re: Greenwood
I don't need to coach. There are guys out there that really can coach. Some think they can coach. Results don't lie. Some things you can just see. You didn't tell me anything I didn't know. You aren't the league or the know it all as you seem to imply with every post you place here. Came on here from no where. The fact still remains that the program has underperformed to schools it usually beats. 2 losses to Easley, 2 losses to Laurens in 5 years. No region titles. I know these kids. Not just the ones that live in the nice neighborhoods either. I hear what they say and know how they feel. Hopefully they'll feel welcomed to come back out and participate and help the program. I could get really nasty too like you. But I'll let you have at it.Damefan wrote:@eagle93 Lets get one thing perfectly clear, I don’t have any guy and I have more ties to Greenwood with family and friends living there than you know so worry about finding your new coach so you can complain about him if things don’t pan out. Re: Greenwood
Florida St offered Sam but he was waiting on other offers because Florida St was under turmoil with Jimbo Fisher. We all know now that Florida St isn't the Florida St of great anymore. No Fly Zone wrote:He had Power 5 offers and opted to go to Georgia State.StateChampsGHS wrote:We had a QB that broke the school's rushing record a few years back. We had a D1 receiver that year and the coach would rather run the QB to death. Luckily, both players are playing at the next level. The receiver ended up going to Georgia St but could have made it to a power 5 school if we threw the ball more his senior season. The coach had favorites on the team.
Anyways, Pippin wanted to utilize the QB more with his legs instead with both his legs and arm doing Sam's senior season. Pippin hurt Sam's numbers his senior season. Sam had better numbers his junior season versus his senior season. Sam still went to a good college but still could have had more power 5 offers.

Pippin beat out all those guys listed above because they all applied for the job. Pippin was just a bad hire. Pippin had his shot and failed. Good luck to his future and hopefully he will learn from his mistakes and listen to others.Damefan wrote:You can check I am sure to confirm this, but Pippin beat out Rusty Charpia for the job not Strickland or Nickles.eagle93 wrote:I knew it wouldn't be long until you arrived. If Greenwood High School chooses the right coach this time, you don't have to worry about people complaining about the program. Everything will be back to standard like it use to be. No more losing to teams that we should beat!!!Damefan wrote:@eagle93 Lets get one thing perfectly clear, I don’t have any guy and I have more ties to Greenwood with family and friends living there than you know so worry about finding your new coach so you can complain about him if things don’t pan out. Re: Greenwood
Hey Damefan, Pippin could probably use you overseas with Lazio football. Just a suggestion since you both think alike.

Thanks for the endorsement but retired, traveling, and playing golf! I enjoy the humorous comments too much of some of the armchair QB’s that think they know better. Gives me my daily good laugh at some of the stupidity that is thought of. I will say that there are some great ideas out there and changes need to be made on some levels such as the merger of Emerald and GHS which I think will happen in time, but some folks need to get more realistic. Times have changed and these kids are not the same as you and or even I was back in the day. Electronics have ruined them!StateChampsGHS wrote:Hey Damefan, Pippin could probably use you overseas with Lazio football. Just a suggestion since you both think alike.

Re: Greenwood
I don't think the merge will happen because too many factors play into that. You right, time has changed and kids are definitely not the same. At the end of the day, it's still our duty to reach out to kids and teach them so the can adapt to these new changes....And l mean all kids not just certain ones!!!Damefan wrote:Thanks for the endorsement but retired, traveling, and playing golf!
