Coleman and Byers! Thanks Mikey. I was coaching at Laurens and we scrimmaged Gaffney and got absolutely lit up by those backers. We were trying to run the ball on basic plays like iso, power, sweep (we were no spread O) and they were literally knocking our fullbacks and tailbacks out of the scrimmage, lol.

If I remember correctly that team of Gaffney had Charles Palmer and also a wr that played at Cincinnati. I'm from Blacksburg and remember coming over to watch Gaffney/Northwestern that year at the reservation. It was a beast of a game and I think the final was 14-13 Gaffney. Man them and NW used to have some absolute dogfights. That was when NW was run oriented and played crazy defense. That was probably the best team Gaffney ever fielded or very close.
