Hope everything turns out okay for you Brother! Please, keep us updated.1 CAT FAN wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2020 12:10 pmWell, I'm under the covid protocol for the next 14 days. Got bitten by a special needs patient who had been quarantined in the covid quarantine unit. Somehow he had evaded the nurses attention, left the unit and was roaming the hospital hallways. Security was called to assist nursing staff, he had become confused and combative. Fortunately, we were successful in persuading the autistic patient back to the quarantine unit without physical contact. Just as I was about to leave the unit, he became combative with the nursing staff, for their safety I had to subdue him while they administered medication in his IV to relax him. Unfortunately, his teeth found my forearm in the process.
Now, we all know that health officials do not fully understand the covid virus on a national level.
Occupational health informed me that a bloodstream bite was a very low contagion risk to none. Monitor for symptoms for the next 14 days and stay away from people. With the overwhelming amount of covid patients that come through the ER, surprised that I haven't been infected yet.
Well, I'm into the 3rd day and no symptoms yet. Although, the antibiotic they gave me for human bite infection has my digestive system in turmoil. Side effects, they say.
Does anyone remember Steven King's TV series "The Stand". The plot centers on a pandemic of a weaponized strain of influenza that kills almost the entire world population. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Stand ... iniseries)

I wouldn't mind seeing her, but we won't see the other one, will we? The one that turns into a crow? He scares me.

Re: COVID-19 Registry
Gotten through the first week, still feel fine so far. Some of other hospital employees have been infected and beaten the virus. Even with all the safety precautions, the work environment is filled with patients who come in with other health concerns that may have the virus without even knowing it. Basically, every patient that signs in is treated as if they have the virus. Still, it's difficult to prepare for every unknown incident that may occur.
Good thing that we're not living in a "Walking Dead" zombie apocalypse, they would have had to chop off my arm.

What hospital do you work at? My daughter is an ICU nurse at MUSC Florence. She's been working directly with Covid patients since March. She spent May and June working in an ICU at Elmhurst hospital, Queens NYC. She's still testing negative.1 CAT FAN wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 5:41 pmGotten through the first week, still feel fine so far. Some of other hospital employees have been infected and beaten the virus. My stepson and his wife both now have it. She brought it home about a week ago from the plant she works at in Marlboro County. They are in their early 30s and have no other health issues. They are sitting at home with flu-like symptoms and are both getting better.
Re: COVID-19 Registry
Little ole' Dillon, which serves Marlboro, Robeson and Dillon county. We still have the main entrance locked, no visitation. Only certain times of the day are patients allowed 1 visitor with no switching out, which is far more than most hospitals are allowing. Of course though, the covid quarantine unit has no visitation for any reason. At first, no one was allowed other than the patients, not even the Doctors offices which is connected to the hospital. Felt bad for people who were in need of family support. Awful times we are living in. Still, I put my trust in God. Bless you guys.

Had an amazing 4th celebration with my 2nd family. The sis in law of my friend still has covid and her hubby’s results still aren’t back which meant he had to stay home and miss the celebration.
His own daughter was asked to stay away by her uncle. The member of the family least concerned that there was a problem had to quarantine himself and miss the celebration of our country’s birthday because he actually had THE problem.
Scotty,
Don't get along with the in-laws all that much?
One consolation of Trmp, my mother-in-law HATES HATES HATES Turnip.
For the first time in my 20 year marriage, me and my mother_in_law are peas and carrots. We're bonding over the Prez. She's my biggest fan on my Facebook page. She is a dawggone bulldog on anything RUMP. I can count on her every day to come along and spew venom about the POTUS on my page. Never felt as close to that woman as I do in 2020. All her other kids and in laws love Agent Orange so I am a bastian. A safe harbor in the storm. And because she's my wife's mother, no one can back talk her because I come right back saying, "I'll not suffer you disrespecting the only Mom I got" (mine died of a sudden heart attack in '97)
So Sandra Yokley is bullet proof.
Anyway, funny as Hell Scotty. Good for you.

I'd forgotten about this thread to be honest.
You guys know Chuch was my best friend.
Matt is my other best friend. A trifecta of perfect human beings in my opinion. Matt is the history teacher teaching college level students. Trojangrad78 met Matt at Chuck's funeral and wake. He has a master's degree in world history. Dude is a walking library.
Anyway, his father got hit with covid and it layed the ole man low for three weeks in bed. But he pulled through and it seems it's clear sailing now.
I have been nursing a sinus infection now for the 4th week in a row. Got a Z-pack from the family doctor but hasn't done much good. No sore throat and no breating problems though. And I have had life-long asthma. Not many headaches either. Just stopped up nasal passages. Went to the doctor to mix up my cocktail of happy pills. Battling some debilitating depression lately and dark thoughts. Been out of work for a long time and have a story to tell about my employer that I was with for 15+ years. Guy thumps a Bible every chance he gets but he doesn't live by the word in my opinion. A select few of you heard the story of me walking out on that company years ago. No one has heard about them calling and hiring me back and then firing me 70 days later. (Brought ice cream treats for the whole company on my day off one day which more or less led to me being fired unceremoniously. What goes around comes around. Revenge is a dish best served cold. When I get read I'll tell my story and that company will recieve the first draft.)
Anyway, just thought I'd jump on here and say, "What's up!!!!"
Yeah, I'm ridin with Biden in Novemember. I'll bare my chest and suffer the slings and arrows for that. What can I say other than Rump is the political version of Vic6. But I'm still the same old me minus a few sanity points, or plus a few crazy points or bricks in the wall if you get my meaning. Still hanging on. If everything works out I'll have a Hell of a story to tell.
BTW, if you're a Trump supporter don't seek me out on Facebook. You won't like what you see.
Oh, one last thing. Spartanburg Medical Research (not affiliated with Spartanburg Regional Hospital) is doing a COVID study. Pays $1,000 if you take part. My whole family is signing up for the study. I've done a dozen different studies with this company about my asthma problems. Super cool place. Super easy money if you can stand needles.
I'll keep you guys updated on COVID as I can.
OH, I said "trifecta"...I meant "bifecta"
Chuck and Matt were/are above reproach. Me? I got some more work ahead of me to be the good souls that they were/are.
So far only two cases that I know of in my circle of friends who have COVID.
Me and John64 had lunch around noon last weekend at Papa's breakfast Nook. I think we set a record. 9 hour lunch (we stayed for dinner.)
John who is against masks had a mask and a tie dye while I am pro-mask forgot mine and no hippie shirt. Go figure.
Peace out! Love you guys!
