I have typed this twice, and deleted it by my own hand thinking it was a bit harsh. However as I think of it, it needs to be said to silence the toxic spray that Penguin spews.

You say that you do not care who people "think" is the best, yet you reference (erroneously) a Nationwide poll when it is convenient for your lame argument. BTW, those same polls you reference have your school around 4500. Check out the big 3 up here.

When Beaufort starts playing the big boys in FL, CA, PA, AL, LA, VA, and OH, then you might have a little peg leg to stand on. Hell, y'all ain't even playing the big boys in SC! Take your horse blinders off and look around. You guys are a very very small fish in a big scary pond. Stick close the the bank lil minnow

What's your out of state record against FL teams? You just need to worry about your "out of town" records against the next mill village over.

You ain't the only one who knows football.

How many big boy trophies in football are within 30 miles of your beloved Beaufort stadium? I can tell you right now...it ain't as much as this area known as REGION 2!

Dude, you bring it on yourself...

Laurens 23-7
Don't forget Gaffney #3 seed destroyed unbeaten Region champs #1 seed Sumter...I wonder how DF would have fared if they had to go thru Byrnes,Dorman and Gaffney in consecutive weeks... :?

In some years they would make it through that gauntlet totally because Knotts is a good coach but that would not be the norm for sure.
Gaffney, Dorman, & Byrnes historically just have to much talent & good coaching to get through those 3 consistently.

DF very well could be the best team this year, under Knots they certainly are one of the best in this state but my original post was based solely on normalcy, & what is normal in this state is the best teams year in & year out come from region II. Its sucks that sooner rather than later the two best teams in this state will play in the simi finals under this current format, you can take that to the bank. ;)
I dont give em hell, I just tell them the truth & they think its hell!

Region 2 is the best. Old Region 2 used to be the best.

and the way to maximize points in the points system is to play the biggest schools. Yes, you don't know in advance what their record would be, but they still give more points than schools from smaller classifications

In the old region 2, you had 6-7 schools that were in the big 16, so if you played in that region, you would maximize your points. Then, in your non-region games, you are motivated and rewarded to play the bigger schools that have a tradition of winning

Schools that played in conferences with few or no big 16 schools had no chance to outpoint the old region 2 teams

As far as Dutch Fork and cross bracketing. First let's establish if they are upper or lower state (Sumter was upper this year). Then let's decide if they could navigate Gaffney, Byrnes, and Dorman in successive weeks

No system will be approved by all

Guys, this is gonna be a fun play off. Props to all teams involved. I have ribbed a few posters from FD, but I told them we see them down there and are very aware. They seem to be focused.
As long as Knott's is present, he will be the #1 threat. He is almost as good as Bentley.
Dorman, always a silent (and solid) lurker, and Gaffney....well they are just Gaffney (that was props guys). I ain't sure how it's gonna unfold. Good luck to all teams left. I still ain't sure about Clover, they may surprise us all

If you are north of Columbia then you are UPSTATE! If you are South of Columbia then you are LOWER STATE!!! It really is that simple BUT if anyone thinks for a second that DF isnt in the lower state bracket by design to keep them from playing the likes of Byrnes, Gaffney, & Dorman in consecutive weeks then you are lying to yourself.
The SCHSL knows that Knotts is the only legit threat year in & year out to produce a team that can beat one of those teams on any given day. Its all by design & not really hard to see it, they are not trying to hide their attempt to give the "Lower State" some State Title trophies.
Think about it... Before Knotts when was the last time a true "Lower State" team in the largest classification won a State Title? Wasnt it the Stratford Knights in the early 2000's? Then it was total upstate dominance with teams like Rockhill, Byrnes, Gaffney, Spartanburg, Dorman winning al the titles until Knotts got the DF program up & going.

Also I know good ole' Jerome son played for DF how many more SCHSL officials have sons playing for DF? Its all 100% by design people & we for some reason cant do anything about it, OR CAN WE?
I dont give em hell, I just tell them the truth & they think its hell!
