Can’t believe they split Laurens and Greenwood. I thought Riverside and Wade Hampton would be well above the 5a number

There’s so much wrong with all of it.
Should go back to 8 team regions

It’s like their trying to put 2 good teams in each region instead of stacking a region with a bunch of good teams

There’s not enough teams for this format
Get rid of 5A and go back to big 16
Then 4A-2a are so watered down

Riverside, actually dropped well below 40.

Wade Hampton is questionable for me, but maybe this note in the guidelines had something to do with Wade Hampton to 4A:
Schools in the plus/minus may be moved up or down to address primary concerns of:
1. Geography and travel
2. Even number of teams in regions - specifically 6 to 8 teams per region
3. For schools in the same district to be considered/maintained in the same regions if possible
Schools in the plus/minus may be moved up or down to address the secondary concern of
1. To avoid hybrid conferences when possible
.

I'm thinking about entering the transfer portal!

As far as Wade Hampton is concerned, the SCHSL might have finally taken into account the Greenville County fine arts facility on their campus. Those kids take their core classes at WH, but then concentrate on the arts, and come from all schools in the county.
I believe 300-400 kids. And one knows that no ball players come out of that end of things. But it doesn't matter. WH doesn't care about football. Not sure they could make the playoffs if they were in 2A

A lot of students at Spring Hill High School get allocated to Dutch Fork. The same thing happens with multiple other schools. The SCHSL's lack of transparency of these allocations contribute to distrust in the process. People are left scratching their head wondering why some schools moved up or down.
