DeCav is correct...this has been probably our worst season in some time as far as the injury bug. QB went out early against Spartanburg and did not return as a starter until the White Knoll game. No tested back up QB- used probably 5 different guys at QB in that time. Green missed several games; OL/DL linemen out, several other positions ( a couple key linemen still out). I think some may have been basically able to return sooner but Knotts chose to rest them against North Augusta, Stratford and SFA...probably a good move. Back to the healthiest we have been since the very start of the season. Getting healthy and getting back to some DF football.

I agree about resting the injured players as long as possible.

Did Appleby come back strong? I’m always worried about giving the job back to the starter when he’s been out for awhile. If Knotts was rotating the backups all along it would clearly help derail any QB controversy upon his return. I guess he was waiting for a backup to present a clear argument for going with him over the injured starter. Sounds like there isn’t a compelling reason not to get the starter back in the mix.

Seems like Knotts is handling the injuries well.

I’m not sure why Knotts seems to be so unliked by other fans. Anytime I was someone I just get rumors about recruiting and condemnations about him being on the field too much.

He never struck me as a Scott Early type who has a reputation for being a sore loser
Aliam Appler is still shaking off a little rust but so far so good. He has basically only played the first half in his two games back... a little longer in the White Knoll game but backups played most of the second half in both the WK and Chapin games. He has been managing the game fairly well. Passing is 17 of 29 for 256 yards, with one TD and one INT...runs the ball ok. 14 carries for 106 yards and 4 TDs. He is a big strong kid and runs hard. Pretty good return for those two games playing half the game. The QB was the hardest injury to deal with...no real tested back up save a late transfer from New Hampshire and a third stringer from last year...used a RB, FS, SS and both of those QBs in the interim and they did fairly well but good to have Appler back.
TK is not a sore loser...more like a sore winner. Listen to him talk about the team's performance after a win sometimes one would think they lost by 4 TDs...lol. He does love to work the refs...I know that gets under their skin but its just his way of managing the game.

Well good luck the rest of the way. I suppose I’m wishing luck 🍀 as far as injuries go. No luck needed by your boys for the W’s. No doubt you are aware what TJ said which was that he was a great believer in luck and found the harder he worked the more luck he had.

Maybe the Cavs will see DF in the playoffs!

It don't matter to me who stops DF from making it all the way to state. But if they had been in these upper bracket the past years, I don't believe they would have won state that many times. They had cake walk they get to championship to play 1 hard challenge.
But if they have to play any upstate teams back to back, they wouldn't have made it I don't believe.
Also, Gaffney ain't scared to play them, but how about somebody else take them down for change. Why always gotta be Gaffney to take them down? But if it has to be then bring them on. Period

Other than being an arrogant asshole who stretches the rules as far he can get away with..recruits nationally..he’s just a nice guy who wins a lot I guess

It does seem to be the prevailing thought, especially on the board!

Didn't the non-Brynes fans trumpet the same thing about Bentley? I'm just the Socratic type and he was put to death.
