Watched some extended highlights on this game. Proud of the Foxes. For a first game of the season a rough one ;personally, I would have rather played Stall!...(no offense) Hough ain't no joke. Big, strong, fast, well-coached and deep.
Offense played it safe for the most part. Moved the ball okay. Too many turnovers and a few too many penalties. But I think TK will sort it out. Need to get #17 into the play calling more...as long as he holds on to the ball. The O line played well. Hough D Line was big and strong, but they held their own. QB played decent...managed the game well. Made some good throws/runs. Hough hung their hat on stopping Jarvis Green. Smart move. If Hough doesn't play for the NC 4A title or at least determines who does, I will be very surprised.
Defense played well. I knew they were pretty good from last season and most of those guys came back. Thought they looked decent against NW and their offense...after what they did to RH even more pleased. DF not real big but the defense is very fast and well-coached. And they will hit. Deep unit, I counted 18 different players on the field for the defense during the game at various times. #93, #29, #41, #55, #12, #26, #6, #24...tough bunch. Hough returned 10 starters on offense and some D1 commits. The QB is going to UNC. We kept them in check for the most part. Hough's kicker is the real deal. If they got on the DF side of the 50 it was almost an automatic 3 points. That kid was warming up kicking 60 yarders. Jr. that UNC has already offered.
Spartanburg is next...and they are mad. Never a good thing. Have to see what TK can cook up for the Vikings. Tough non-region schedule. Have to hang in there.
Fear The Fox...
