Where do you live? They kill folks in every town.

He has never lived in any community he has coached in as a Head Coach that I am aware of outside of Ninety Six. Not McCormick, nor Aiken!! Imagine Frank Hill, Pinky Babb, or Shell Dula not living in the community but driving in each day. Ridiculous!! Small town coaches need to live, breath, and be involved with their families in that community!!
He lives 10 minutes from Emerald HS. He could live in Gwd and be further away.

We're probably not gonna hear much on this front until around Christmas time.

Emerald is in a prime spot for a big shake up if McMahon and Sorrow both retire. That's the AD, his right hand man, and the head coaches of both MAJOR sports (football and basketball) leaving at the same time.

District 50 has a real chance to make culture shifting moves at both Greenwood and Emerald this winter...

I know there are a couple folks on here, family members, assistants who want to stay in place, that think the whole town would fall into a sink hole if they dont hire Neal. But as I have said before, they need new voices all around at Emerald. And trust me, if that job came open Emerald would have some very good coaches interested. They see the talent down there that has basically been wasted.

I'm telling you...I have a bad feeling about what's going to go down.

The whole facade of Chris Deal "stepping away" is smoke and mirrors. It's his job to lose and that would be a disaster. He came back to Greenwood for that job. McMahon will do everything to get it for him.

McMahon and sorrow are not retiring. which means lower turnout next season. kids are tired of same ole same ole. Deal is an Asst principal making way more more than a head coach w/o AD would make and is following son at Auburn. Kids would jump on Neal bandwagon if that was an option, but something must change before its too late like 96 and Ware Shoals

It's a real shame if both of those guys continue to ride the lightning and milk District 50 for even more money than they've already basically stolen with their half-hearted coaching jobs over the years. They phoned it in years ago...

And when it comes to Deal, it's not about money. Remember, his youngest son is still playing at Emerald. He came back for that job, not to drive off to Alabama every week to watch his son stand around on Auburn's sideline.

Neal would have to shake things up on staff knowing that is part of the problem. And he would. from what I understand he has learned his lesson about keeping holdovers.

He might hire new coordinators, but he'll have to keep the bulk of the staff. A lot of those guys have been at Emerald for close to a decade or even longer. They aren't going anywhere.
