Mallard Creek 8 -- Spartanburg 6

From what I heard ...
Vanilla was the flavor of the day.

Spartanburg looked flat and kind of slow in the scrimmage. They may have been a little banged up from the scrimmage with Northwestern earlier in the week. Mallard Creek played with a lot more energy as they scored on their first offensive play of the scrimmage. Their RB took the handoff up the middle for a 60 yrd TD run. After that Spartanburg settled down and snuff out any potential drives. The Vikings didn't score until there were 3 minutes left in the scrimmage. The QB scrambled for a TD from inside the 11 yard line, the 2pt conversion failed. There were no splash plays from either team, just run left run right and a few pass plays mixed in. Both teams look really good on defense. With the season starting Friday i don't think both teams wanted to put much on film.
