**South Pointe @ Spartanburg Vikings**

The lights come on this Friday night so lets get the season started with some picks. The Spartanburg Vikings #7(5A) will host the South Pointe Stallions #4(4A) at Vikings Stadium. The Vikes will start a lot of Jr's after losing a lot of starters to graduation. I do know much about the Stallions this year but i do know they always field a good team. Should be a good matchup for week Zero.

If Spartanburg wins by two tds or more I'll be thrilled and somewhat shocked.
I think it's a much closer game. I haven't seen SP in any scrimmages or anything but if they don't have athletic guys at skill positions I'll be shocked.
I'm always Leary of first games and every sandbags at jamborees. Turnovers/ Special Teams usually have a glitch in the first game.

Has anyone seen SP and really know what they got and are running offensively??
They are ranked pretty high.

Spartanburg by a TD

Two M80s' and punk sticks
My uncle's favorite Farrah Fawcett lighter
A Schwinn hurricane with BMX grips"

Spartanburg loss to South Pointe looked very similar to the loss they had in the scrimmage against Mallard Creek, excellent defense and little offense. Their offense line is huge but lack experience. The QB was running for his life all night and when he did get a chance to throw he missed wide open WR's. To make things worse, their best RB got suspended and did not play in the game. How do you get suspended your first week back to school? :?:  ......Oh well 0-1 Spartanburg against 0-1 Dutch Fork!!

GreerFan1 I was wondering if you saw the Stallions scrimmage this offseason or was your pick more about knowing what Spartanburg has? I never heard how the Stallions looked in any of the scrimmages; so literally trying to find out.
I know they had a very successful 7 on 7 circuit; but that's it.

Thanks!

Saw both multiple times this summer, and was really impressed with Spartanburg and not so much with South Pointe, but it goes to show you can't make predictions based on 7v7's, totally got the one wrong. Watched the highlights and gosh your D line is impressive.

Thanks!

Outside of 7 on 7, I haven't had a chance to check out the Stallions live yet. Hopefully, work gets a little less crazy and I have time to go check them out.
