This poll is a joke!! Spartanburg loss by the score of 8-6 in a two qtr scrimmage to Mallard Creek. They also loss to South Pointe 16-14 in week zero and beat Dutch Fork 17-6 week 1. Mallard Creek loss to a national 5th rank Buford Ga 10-7 and South Pointe beat Rock Hill 34-17. How is Mallard Creek ranked 6th, South Pointe ranked 7th, but they have Spartanburg ranked 21st? I guess time will tell!!

Polls, be it in major college sports or a local poll for high school teams are filled with "personal" bias and "professional" bias and if you want proof, just ask some of our posters to submit their picks for a 5A Poll, 4A Poll, or a poll or all SC teams regardless of classification. You would have folks picking 0-2 Dutch Fork over Spartanburg, even though just a few days ago, the Vikings beat them at Irmo. Their reason would be everything from "They would have won if the QB didn't get hurt!" or "Dutch Fork will win the re-match!" or you can fill in the blanks. You know I am not a Viking fan, far from it, ever since they treated Doc Davis like they did. But even I would have Spartanburg ahead of Dutch Fork at this point in time. I would likely have South Florence or South Pointe at #1 if it were a "regardless of classification Poll" and if it were a 5A poll, I'd likely have the Vikings at #1.
