Byrnes vs West Florence

Homecoming in Duncan this week, think I'm gonna go to this game with my Byrnes buddy instead of watching us get curb stomped by Westside lol.

Thoughts on West Florence? I know nothing about them except that they got the playmaker going to Carolina. It looks like they had a bye week to prepare for the Rebels, and I know that they beat them last year down at their place.

It seemed like the Rebels were a little off against Wren.

I would say Byrnes easily, but this season is crazy...Byrnes, I think!

WF has Kelvin Hunter, a shrine bowl DB that has committed to S. Carolina, and they have a dual threat QB that was a line backer.

I'm not sure what else they've got.

When they are fully focused and prepared (see Hough game and Greenville game) Byrnes looks like a title contender. When they come into a game like Chapman and Wren, they look like a bunch of lost toddlers....

Great talent at the RB position, and by that I mean, at least 3 that would see a lot of playing time on most teams in the state if they were not the starter. A defense that is good at most positions and very quick and reacts and stays in their lane most of the time. The only area that is lacking at times is focus and preparation. They seem to play to the level of the competition and sometimes seem to take the other team for granted. In my mind, that is something that can be fixed only by guys who don't wear a uniform....

Some of my fellow Rebels agree and some get very upset with me for saying these things; but all I'm doing is sharing what I observed. I've been a Rebel fan for over 50 years and I've been there for the good and the bad, I was there when we were 15-0 and 1-11. If the team that I watched played Hough up in Charlotte is on the field, this team could hoist a trophy in Orangeburg in December! If the team that I watched in Inman is on the field, they could finish 0-4 in the Region.

I think it the Rebels don't take West Florence serious, they will indeed catch a loss this week.

After losing on the last play of the game in Florence last year, that SHOULD NOT be a problem this year....

Not surprised. After seeing Lexington struggle with Stratford and lose to Gilbert, I suspected WF would have their hands full with the Rebels.

It sure is a lot easier to predict after the final score is recorded....
