I watched the home games with ST.Joseph's
and Chesterfield on NFHS. it has been a few years
since i have been to a game at Blacksburg.
Did they get a new stadium or just update
the old one.

Yes new stadium. It is actually very nice for a 2a team. The visitors have their own fieldhouse/locker room to go to before game, halftime, and after game. Stadium now holds I believe 3,000 or so.

I heard rumors that they were going to change the name to mikey stadium when he gets out his wallet and donates the money for the new turf!

1. I’m not a fan of turf..the field has always had a nice crown..

2..we have a referendum up for vote that includes a turf field…improves the baseball at concession at Blacksburg .it also builds new on campus baseball and softball fields at Gaffney…I could vote for that.
it also calls for renovations at Blacksburg Middle …2 jr high schools in Gaffney ( we just spent millions renovating the ones we have) at a cost of 60 million each) addition 2 elementary schools (one that just opened) they need additions because they closed 3 elementary schools that had just undergone millions in renovations…I can’t vote for this…our superintendent seems to have no forward vision when spending tax dollars…him and the district athletic director need to go back to Sumter and waste their money..

The AD that was there is already back in Sumter. He is at Crestwood High in Sumter. I think this is his second year there.
