CITYSLICKER,

As and old Goose Creek kid, what is the key behind the success at James Island High football? They had a great year last year and are now 6-0.
Back in the day, you could always count an automatic win when you played James Island. Hope you are doing well Slick. You have been in my prayers......

A 5A school playing at the 4A level with a 3A schedule.
But I will say we scrimmaged them before the season and they were probably the
Toughest team We have played to date.
In the realignment J.I should come back to 5a and Stall needs to go back to 4a.

Go Wave

Absolutely correct. Not impressed with thier staff from a character standpoint. Not sure I would want them influencing my child's thought process or lessons on how to carry yourself off the football field as a growing young man/men.

May go to a game Friday if I'm physically able .still a bit wobbly. We shall see.
Going stir crazy .

Thanks to all for the info! I was wondering about their coaching staff....I know that area has grown dramatically...

Hey Slick, wasn't Reid Charpia head coach at James Island years ago? Didn't he go on to coach at Newberry College?

Thanks Wave80. I did not know Coach Charpia went on to Irmo after James Island High.....I can't recall the exact year; but, I remember going to see Summerville play Irmo for either the State Championship game or Lower State Championship game at Johnson Hagood Stadium. I think it was either 1979 or 1980 ..... That is when you had Perry Cuda at QB and Jimmy Harrel at WR..
