Sumter is my most improved team. They made it to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2009 and will finish with a winning record since 2009. Hillcrest is improved too. I can't remember Hillcrest ever making it to the second round.

Wow. I know the home side will be packed. Sumter has some MEAN defensive linemen. Its the bread and butter of their team. All of them are seniors. Erick Wright is a North South all star cornerback. Held South Florence to 28 pts (14 offensive) and Mauldin to 27. They allow about 22 pts per game for the season but 14 pts per game for the last 7 games, including Mauldin. Offensively Sumter has playmakers but the offense is the main question mark. They are full of sophomores and juniors. The defense usually does their job but whether Sumter wins depends on how they do offensively. Special teams is really good. I personally wouldn't kick it to Ky'Jon Tyler (#23) or Xzavian Burson (#1). Hillcrest would be asking for trouble if they did that. Hillcrest should force the Sumter offense to beat them. If Hillcrest is as good as I'm hearing, it should be a good game. It's also Sumter's first road game in a month so I would also expect them to have some jitters.

It should be a good game. Hillcrest has an excellent offense led by SO Collin Sneed. Cool under pressure usually. OL is decent but they help him with roll outs and quick hitters.
Sounds like this could be a special teams return fest. Last week Ki Jana Madden had a punt and KO return for TD. PLUS TWO receiving and 1 rushing!
Isaiah Lewis is a Shrine Bowl player who goes both ways at WR and DB. He scored on a swing pass....took it 79 to pay dirt. Our defense has been outstanding too. 11.3 pts ppg. Yea, yea, we don't play nobody right? Held Mauldin to 13 points. Better know where Landon Sayegh is. MLB that know how to get to the ball.
Looking forward to it. You gonna make it up to the game bbrown?

I plan on it. I haven't been to a game in the upstate since we last played Spartanburg back in 2011.

In Region 3, although the record doesn't show it in the W column, Clover is the most improved team by far. It will be a long term rebuilding process of probably 4 more years. The scandal there a few years ago essentially totally destroyed the football program. It is nice to see them getting back to the beginning of being competitive again.

I would have to say that My Beaufort Eagles are one of the most improved teams this season. 2 years ago Beaufort finished with a record of 5-6 and last year Beaufort finished up with a record of 4-7. Beaufort has really improved this season. Beaufort is 9-3 this season and are playing in the 2nd Rd of the playoffs. No one predicted that. Most people thought that Beaufort would win only 3 or 4 games this season.
Beaufort Head Football Coach Mark Clifford should win the 4A Coach of the year. He certainly deserves it. Great Job Beaufort Eagles!!!!
GO BEAUFORT EAGLES!!!!

These boys have been playing as a unit since their Sophomore year(s). Cavazio Wells (51) is a straight-up athlete, DeMarcus Harris (94) is always in the play, Nathan O'Connor (98) is a 2-time All-American Heavyweight wrestler, Ramaro Rock (12) can get in the backfield in a hurry and is a disruptive force.
I wouldn't consider any of them 'rednecks' though, unless Drake's new album was country...
