Daniel vs Pendleton

This week the Lions will be heading down to Pendleton for the de facto region championship. Both teams are 3-0 in region play so far and just one loss between them.
Pendleton has had an impressive turnaround under coach Grayson Howell since taking over in 2021. His first year they were quite possibly the worst team I’ve seen the Lions play that wasn’t West-Oak. Last year they came out the gates hot but stumbled down the stretch. This year they have started out hot again but they’ve continued the momentum into region play.
Obviously I can’t talk about tough schedules since we don’t have one, but Pendleton hasn’t exactly been challenged other than facing the reigning upper state champs Powdersville where they lost 56-40. Their wins are over Dixie, Eastside, Fountain Inn, and Palmetto in non region. Then region wins over West-Oak, Seneca and Crescent.
Our team is definitely on a different level than the other teams they have faced so far, but you gotta play the game. Never know what can happen on the field. But I am confident in our team to continue our regular season winning streak.

Lions win big! Pendleton has one quality opponent and they were losing 31-6 at halftime (powdersville). Pendleton will feel the weight of the game whereas the Lions are used to being cool and calm with region championship implications.
Look for Pendleton to come out fired up, hitting hard, but flustered by halftime.

I fully expect DWD to blow Pendleton off the field. Pville was killing them 30-6 at the half and it should have been worse. Their QB has some talent and he's tough but he really only has one consistent weapon at WR #2). They click pretty well. Franklin could be really good but you can get in his head pretty easy. Idk if they can't run the ball or if they had to resort to all passes because they got down so early against Pville. The backups and and sloppy defense gave them more points in the end then they should've had. The final score was not indicative of the real game. They were never a threat to get close to beating Pville. Plus, their bye week was the 2nd week of the season, they're gonna run out of gas eventually.

Lions win once again 56-28 and claim yet another region title, that makes it 5 straight.
Without the Pendleton QB and the refs this would’ve probably been 56-0. Their QB was a baller, I’m not surprised by their success this year by seeing how he plays as a leader. Flags were killers but what really irked me more than anything was our inability to get off the field on defense. We’d have them to 3rd and 4th down but they’d convert way too often. At the same time we needed a game that we had to battle through some adversity and it will pay off later in the season.
We will close out the season next week at home against Crescent.

Disagree about 56-0. Your point seems to be counterintuitive when saying it should be a shutout but we couldn’t get off the field on 4th down. It should probably been 63-21. No doubt we should’ve scored at the end of the half to make it 42-14 at half. But at the end of the day a solid win against a formidable opponent with lots of adversity throughout the game.
The big thing that affects us tonight as well is Wren beating Pville.
