Potential stadium scheduling issue in Football City

So, Northwestern has won their region and is guaranteed home games in the first two rounds.

If Rock Hill defeats Clover, then Rock Hill is region champion and is also guaranteed two home games in the first two rounds.

Even if Rock Hill loses to Clover, as second in the region, they still will host a first round game.

Since both teams share historic D3 stadium, who gets the Friday night game?

Well back in the day, it was the higher seeded team but since one is 5A and one is 4A now... maybe the head to head???

Well….that is indeed an interesting issue to solve. Southpointe will likely host a first round game as well.

SP has their own stadium right? Nonetheless would be pretty cool for Northwestern/ Rock Hill double header

Yes. South Pointe has it's own stadium. With them finishing 2nd in the region, they will also have a first round home game on Friday night.

So, all 3 of the Rock Hill high schools have home games on the first Friday night of the playoffs. Nice!

Double header idea is interesting, but that means someone plays at 5:00 then after 8:00. Not real feasible on a Friday. Nobody wants the early game and the opponent would have a long travel most likely. Both teams playing Saturday eliminates a rest day and/or prep for round 2.

Most likely a Thursday Friday split. City Champion should get to choose night, not just because it’s Northwestern. Good thing we have a District AD to workout the issue. Also, another good reason to build an on campus stadium.

Probably already a policy in place, 1st rd NW may want the Thursday game. Give them an extra day rest for rd 2 and probably not a big $ gate anyway. Wouldn't happen but DBL Header would be cool, but would have to be 2 separate tixs sold

even if rock hill wins region III to the victors go the spoils and northwestern beatdown rock hill so nw should get first crack on which night they want to play. on a side note i think nw is the best team in the state this season regardless of classification! didn't they scrimmage dutch fork back when df was 100 percent healthy? if so i can't remember how it turned out but my opinion on nw still stands regardless.

We talked about this on the Red Zone show last night. In talking with District AD, Jimmy Duncan, here is what determines who will play where.
If both teams finish with equals seeds (both win region), then Northwestern gets their choice next week and Rock Hill would have their choice the following week. Then it would be a week to week coin toss. If Rock Hill finishes as the #2 team in their region, Rock Hill would play on Thursday and Northwestern on Friday nights (assuming both continue in the playoffs with home games) throughout. If both ended up hosting an Upper State Championship, then a new discussion would take place on how to handle that.

So, basically here is the scenario. Rock Hill wins against Clover, Northwestern gets the choice for Week 1, Rock Hill for Week 2, then coin toss.
If Clover beats Rock Hill, the Bearcats play on Thursday and Northwestern Friday for the entire playoffs (as long as both have home games). If only one has a home game, then that game would be played on Friday night.
