Is Porter leaving Greenville? I’ve heard he really wants the Lauren’s job… I really don’t want him to leave has transformed my red raiders into contenders

Wouldn't surprise me. The running joke every year used to be "where has Coach Porter applied to this year?" He's either run out of athletes or there aren't any he can poach from Woodmont, Hillcrest, or any others for the foreseeable future. Idk if anyone can turn Laurens around but it'd be interesting to see what he could do with a team like Greenwood.Redraider66 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 10:53 pmIs Porter leaving Greenville? This would surprise me. I believe Greenville is paying him at 6 digits or just below that. I know he really wanted the Greenwood job and he almost got it. Definitely out coached us Friday.Redraider66 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 22, 2023 10:53 pmIs Porter leaving Greenville? He is actually getting paid well at Greenville High. That's why this is a surprise to hear.Blister wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 10:13 amNothing new. Porter has been trying to get out of Greenville County for years. One can’t hardly blame him. The district could care less about football and prove it with their total lack of support. But this Greenville team has as much D1 talent as anybody. Surprised they have lost the games they have lost to be honest. But Laurens? That is a tough gig these days.
Laurens is a head scratcher. From the outside looking in they should be way better than they are. Question is though, is that job going to come open this year?eagle93 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 11:01 amHe is actually getting paid well at Greenville High.
