Only the beginning. Expect a few of these this week, and more next week. Since just about everybody makes the playoffs a lot of schools that are a bottom seed will be looking to make a change

Good job for a assistant to step into on the surface.
But is anyone willing to jump on that grenade .

Wando does not "need" a new head coach. Wando needs an adjustment of attitude. Lucy Beckham High School is a prime example. A Wando spinoff that is doing exceptionally well with the very same athletes who would have failed miserably at Wando. Until football is embraced as the most important extra-curricular activity, Wando will continue to be a school for flute tooters, horn blowers, and drum beaters. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with any of those, in the Football Belt in which we all live, those are only secondary options for most. Maybe they need Chico to sign up for that gig! LOL

How can any teacher/coach afford to live there?
How do you get any assistant coaches to come in with the cost of living and real estate prices through the roof

Wando won a boys basketball title in 2014 then the coach left and they started losing again. That same coach is having great success still.

They have the athletes. They haven’t had the coaching in place for at least a decade.

It’ll take a couple years to get it on track but they have the numbers and the resources to do well.

Page Wofford, arguably the best coach in the state was a Wando assistant.

The OC at Byrnes was a Wando assistant.

The HCs at Beckham and Simmons were Wando assistants.

The program is hiring the wrong head coach candidates.
