The National Anthem!

Congratulations to all the teams who won and made it to the Championship! Shame on all the fans who ignored The Star- Spangled Banner and for that reason I was so happy to see your favorite team get beat! I wanted the team I was there to see to win but the team you were wanting to win to lose. All that screaming and jumping up and down yelling but didn’t have any legs to stand during the National Anthem.

Right, Wrong, or Indifferent, the 1st Amendment to the united States Constitution gives you (anyone), the expressed Right to do as they please during the playing of our National Anthem. While I respect YOUR choice to stand, I also respect other's Right not to stand. In our system of Government, it is the Law's (Constitution's) interpretation that matters, not a person, or group of people. You are touching upon precisely what is the biggest problem that our Country is suffering from now, and that is the failure of some people to respect the Rights of other people. I would also point out that at the time of the writing of our Constitution, there was no National Anthem. National pride is a wonderful thing, and I agree that United States Citizens *should* show some sort of gratefulness for our Home and specifically towards those who have sacrificed their lives to protect our Rights. However, mandated Nationalism, is not the best way. And that is the Law's (legal) point of view as well. Please express yourself as you see fit, but also respect the Rights of others to express themselves as they see fit. I seriously doubt that any person who chose not to stand for the National Anthem, cast any expression towards you for your choice.

I think he just expressed shame…Never seen him say it should be mandated..I think our biggest problem is folks who are always trying to tell others how they should think about things..

No, certainly no quarrel from me. I respect YOUR opinion as well as YOUR expression towards the Anthem. I don't even disagree with either. I just try and look at the BIG picture and respect other's Rights to express their opinions as well. I stand for the Anthem. I have no beef with anyone over that.

Penguin…those all caps words…I feel triggered and unsafe. Ha

What I fought all those years to preserve their free right to free speech. I do believe some generations don’t fully appreciate the sacrifices made to guarantee that freedom and fully comprehend that freedom has never been, is not currently nor ever will be in the future “free”. There is a price that was paid. Out of respect and fully understanding that price…I stand.

I just do what I think is right .let others do thier thing.
I can't control what others do.so I don't worry about it unless it directly affects my wellbeing.
I think its the right thing to do but, I don't know what someone else's head is thinking .
I've been more offended by horrible singers of the anthem than those not standing .

Good man! I just sometimes don’t understand why some people choose to ignore it.
