Meet, Greet & Eat. SP at Stratford, Sumter at S'ville

Post by SF Band dad »

A lot of people have Friday off and can travel early. The Stratford and Summerville stadiums are 5.5 miles apart as the crow flies. This looks like a prime opportunity for a bunch of us to meet-up and enjoy some grub together.

Edit: See GBG's reply below.

Here's a map showing the location of Moose's BBQ and both stadiums.

You beat me to it SFBandDad. On the other site I posted the following post. I was going to post it over here as well but got tied up this morning.

Looks like we have an excellent chance to have a huge meet and greet this Friday with Summerville and Stratford both playing at home on the holiday Friday after Thanksgiving. Most everyone should be off work, and with it down to the semis, many folks will be in town. Last Friday Moose's BBQ in Summerville was mentioned(Creekdaddy ) and seemed to be a popular choice. Mooses is a buffet style BBQ restaurant and is exceptional. You will not leave disappointed. After 4pm the price is $12.75/person which includes your drink as well. Before 4pm the cost is $11/person. Here is a link to Moose's Facebook page if you would like to check out some pics: https://www.facebook.com/MoosesFamousBbq.

Moose's address is 115 East 5th North Street Summerville, South Carolina 29483

Lets get a head count on who plans to attend and when you plan on arriving. I will update this top post with a summary of who is going to attend. I will start it off:

1) GoBigGreen(Mike) with buddy Cecil - Arriving at 4:30pm.
2) Cowboys33
3) Lumpster
4) Decav, DeCav jr, Chuck and DJ
5) LetsGetCocky and friends
6) SF Band Dad and friends
7) CobraKnight - 5pm

I'm planning to be there, I'm not sure how many other band parents I'll have with me. :)

For those of us that use GPS, what is the address of McKissick Field? It looks like there is a visitor's gate to the north-west. Where should visitors park?

John McKissick Field is located behind Rollings School of the Arts off South Main Street(17A) in Summerville. The address is 815 S Main St. One of two entrances on the visitor's side is located next to the parking lot behind Rollings accessible from S Main Street. I normally park along 17A just prior to Rollings. As you are approaching the school you will see a grass field on the left along 17A(S Main Street) which is where many people normally park. It allows for a quick departure following the game and is a very short walk to the gate.

Change "friends" to Chuck and DJ. They are a go.

How cool would it be to play both games at The Citadel - Hagood Stadium

Stratford and South Pointe at 4
Summerville and Sumter at 7:30

Charge $10 and have at it.....

That what I love about Texas, neutral fields double and triple-headers in the playoffs.
