The Fighting Scots football team dropped their season opener by a score of 37-21 to the Wildcats on Friday night at Dillon Memorial Stadium. In just the third all-time meeting between the two teams, the Wildcats jumped out ahead near the end of the first half and never relinquished their lead.

Scotland had their chances to get back in the game during the third quarter but ultimately made too many mistakes to pull out a victory. Head Coach Richard Bailey gave credit to Dillon but admitted the Scots left a lot of opportunities on the table in what he called a “great environment.”

I think that was the longest game I ever been to.. Scotland had a big ole off line but that Dillon def speed is unreal.. Scotland should have kept going with those fake handoff passes and bombs downfield but they didn't..
Apparently Dillon receives can catch the ball this year, but it's been awhile since I saw that Dillon screen pass..This might be hardest year in region play since 1990s.. loris might finally get that W and Marlboro/Clinton N.C is going to tough

That’s a funny comment about the Dillon recievers. Imagine if your QB stuck around instead of running all the way to the bench in NC with 0 TDs, 2 INTs, and 2 fumbles on the year. Guess his new receivers can’t catch either. Anyways you’re right about one thing. Loris is stacked and may be Dillon’s toughest game of the year. Loris wins the region and Marlboro is second. Dillon makes it further in the playoffs though.

Lol that's funny. You know what's else funny is how all of sudden the Wrs at forest hills magically can't catch this year either. Hummmmm must be a coincidence 🤔

Wrong QB, I’m talking bout the one that was all world and left because he was scared ya’ll was gonna suck this year. That one that is riding the bench at his new HS. Dillon receivers could always catch and run as far as I know.

You know what's next. Time to find another school!

He should have transferred to Marlboro county with those other 17 transfers that have contributed to Marlboro’s miraculous turnaround.

Marlboro saw him play. I know they didn't want him!

Funny thing is Dillon’s coach wasted 2 years starting and celebrating a private school transfer who bailed on them and is now faking sick to save face after losing the starting QB job for a 1-2 team at the 2A level in NC. Meanwhile Dillon HC and QB coach passed him off as a P5 talent with big time “offers.” Kid went from University of Tennessee generation talent to UNCP walk on backup faster than anything ever. Could affect Dillon coaches credibility with college coaches when helping other kids get to the next level goin forward. Also, could Dillon have been playing in or won the last 2 state championships if the coaches knew what they were doing and had gone with a different QB. They were pretty close 2 years ago.
