This is another Big Game for Beaufort to open up the season. This is the 2nd straight 5A Team that Beaufort has played this season. Beaufort is a 4A School. I love that Coach Lybrand loves to schedule the Higher Division Teams. This will only help Beaufort get better & stronger by the time that the Region and Playoff Games start. This is Greenwood's first game of the season. Beaufort dropped a close 28-21 game last week against 5A Fort Dorchester in a game that they should have won. The Eagles dominated the Offensive Statistics last week.

This will only be the 4th meeting ever between these 2 teams. Greenwood has won all the previous 3 games against Beaufort. But these teams haven't played against one another since 2009. I know that Coach Lybrand is probably excited about this game. Coach Lybrand graduated and played for Greenwood. Most of his family still live in Greenwood. His parents attend every game for Beaufort even though they live in Greenwood. I know that they are excited about the game too. It should be a pretty good game to watch, I think.

What do y'all think about this game? Doodles has Greenwood favored by 9 points over Beaufort. Massey has Beaufort favored by 2 over Greenwood. Who will win this battle of The Eagles? I will give my prediction later on in the week.

This Greenwood team has looked good in preseason. Has lots of speed and strength and are very physical. It has traditionally been known as I school that likes to run. But this preseason the biggest surprise has been the passing game. The defense is very fast and physical also. I say tight game early, but I believe Greenwood becomes too much in the second half.

I'll go ahead and pay my respect to Beaufort. I know Fort D has been really good over the years and they only lost by seven in a game that some Beaufort fans think they should have won.

The key for me is has Greenwood looked good against teams they were supposed to look good against. The answer is yes. They looked good against Emerald and Crescent. They were competitive enough against Gaffney even though It appeared that Gaffney won the scrimmage.

Beaufort isn't emerald or crescent by any means however I'm expecting Greenwood to have a good showing from what I've seen so far. One thing is for damn sure, Greenwood is improved from the past two years. I'm just enjoying that honestly. Hopefully it'll translate into wins. We'll see!

Gaffney is loaded with D1 talent. That was a good showing for Greenwood regardless. The Emerald team they blitzed gave Abbeville fits the following week. Yes I know they're 1A. But everybody knows Abbeville can play. Lol.

I know Greenwood fans have been down on the Eagles for the last handful of years and it is rightfully deserved at times but I don't think they can be down on them this year. I think Liner is finally getting the buy in from the players and its starting to show. They looked really good against Gaffney during the scrimmage they have a very athletic QB and the running back is a stud as well. I wish I would've known some of the Eagle fans were goin to Gaffney I would've loved to have met and talked with yall some. I'll take Greenwood to win 35-17

Thanks for your input on the game, eagle93! Are you coming down to Beautiful Beaufort by the Sea to watch it? I think it will be a pretty good game.
