Another nail biter of a game with my Wave coming up on the short end of a 1 point game. Summerville jumped to a quick 14-0 lead early in the 1st quarter with a good drive and then a pick 6. Sumter however fought back the remainder of the half to tie the game at 14 for the halftime score. In the 3rd quarter Summerville scored 13 unanswered with a missed PAT that later turned out to be very important. With 9:33 left in the 4th Sumter completed a highlight reel pass and run after the catch to bring it to 27-21 Wave. With about 3 minutes left in the game and Sumter facing a 4th and about 4, I really believe Sumter was going to punt the ball as they were on their own 35 yard line. They did however line up as if they were going to go for it. It worked as our DE jumped off sides giving the Gamecocks a much needed 1st down. Sumter proceeded to move the ball down the field after this first down and scored the gamed winning TD with 1:25 left on the clock. Bridges throws an interception on our last drive to effectively end the game.

A big congrats to Sumter on the win. Your team fought back last week after being down 21-0 to Hillcrest and did the same thing tonight after being down 14-0 early in the game. Sumter and Dutch Fork for the Div I 4A championship! Who would have thunk it prior to the season. You guys should be very proud. It was very nice meeting LetsGetCocky and his wife prior to the game at Mooses. Your son #98 had an outstanding game. Good luck next week against Dutch Fork.

Summerville, thanks for the ride. I know we rode this Wave for about as far as we could take it. If someone had told me prior to the season that we would be playing the Friday after Thanksgiving, I would have been very excited. We are a young team that keeps getting better. Next year should be even better. So don't hold your heads down fellas. You gave us Summerville fans one heck of a season. I SO enjoyed pulling for you in each and every game this year and am already looking forward to next year. Hit the weights in the off season and remember what this feels like and use it to fuel your off season training. Congrats again on a great season.....GO BIG GREEN!!!

Thanks for the kind words GBG. Nate was having trouble with the double teams for a little while. Then he got fed up and started tossing your Right Guard around. I think your coaches thought they had found the weak link and kept running at him. But at that point they probably should have tried something else... 'Cuz they had made him mad, LOL!

I look forward to a rematch sometime soon!

GO GAMECOCKS!!!

When we hear the 14-0 score, HSFBJunkie said "Well Sumter's got them right where they want them!"

I think (it wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong) but I think they have been down 14-0 in all three playoff games... Mauldin, Hillcrest and Summerville.

LOL! I've gotta tell the boys that one...

The boys were down by 21 in Hillcrest, they didn't narrow that lead to 14 until the 4th.

My blood pressure probably can't stand another one!
