Discipline
How many schools are struggling with student/athlete discipline this year and how are the coaches and administrators handling it? Should helmet throwing and cussing out coaches and other players be tolerated? What do the parents in the stands think about this behavior?

The rod has been spared long ago in today’s society.

I don't think they should be babied .I'm usually 0 tolerance. I watched a kid get hurt one year .he was upset that his parents were going to be mad he got injured they never attended his games .I suspect there was 0 home training or guidance in his life.better football than the street.
I wouldn't kick them off the team .but there needs to be accountability. Those lessons may be beneficial to the kid later on .I know the coaches ain't thier parents and vice versa .but they sorta are a few hours a day like it or not.

Good luck cussing out Tom Knotts if you are a Silver Fox...
I know it happens... if we want to blame anyone, our generation needs to look in the mirror. We gave the kids a phone and a debit card and let them raise themselves...in a lot of cases, not all parents- that was a broad generalization, but you reap what you sow.

You can choose to raise your kids or you will be raising your grandkids.DFOLDMAN wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 8:51 amGood luck cussing out Tom Knotts if you are a Silver Fox...

Society is all about instant gratification and no personal consequences. It's not just the kids, it's everywhere. People don't know how to communicate anymore. Everything is text messaging and social media.

Let's just be honest here! Coaches have been put in a very bad position when it comes to discipline. Unfortunately, it is now the team's best players that act out on most Friday nights! These young players are growing up in a culture where it is all about me and F the team! Parents complain about everything the coaches are doing but nothing about the player! Yes, you still have some programs that hold players accountable but very few due to the fact that the next year they will be playing at another school as we have seen with certain area schools! CAN YOU WIN WITH THESE PLAYERS, YESSSSSSSS as we are also seeing with a certain school in Anderson!

Heck, some of the top high school players in the country are making a fortune in NIL money. Julian Lewis from Carrolton GA is making $2,100,000 in NIL deals right now as a 16 year old high school kid. How much will he have made by the time he finishes college? Bryce Underwood out of Michigan is making well over $1,000,000. In North Carolina, private school kids can now make NIL money while public school kids can't. Where do you think the top players will be playing in coming year? It's not in public schools.NKOTB wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 10:45 amLet's just be honest here!
