I don't see Fairfield winning state after watching them play. Yes, they are a very good team, but I don't think they are that kind of good.

Thank you for the honorable mention. We've been starting a freshman and a sophomore at tailback since week zero. Two of our senior RBs, recovered from their injuries, both played in the 2nd half last week. Hopefully, we are healthy and ready for region play, and beyond.

1A - Abbeville
2A - Batesburg-Leesville
3A - BHP. 2nd choice Oceanside. Honorable mention, possible spoiler: Woodruff.
4A - Westside has to be the favorite, but as others have mentioned, there are several teams that could make a run for the trophy. SP, DWD, SF, Gray, RNE.
5A-II - Northwestern. I give them a slight edge over Gaffney. I think Northwestern will win the RPI race, and will host the Upper State Championship game.
5A-I - Dutch Fork

My personal opinion is that it will more than likely be BHP vs Dillon for all the marbles.

Oceanside manhandled a good 5A team in Ashley Ridge the week before. Ashley Ridge spanked an undefeated May River team last night. Ashley Ridge is probably the second best 5A team in the low country save Summerville. Oceanside has a couple injuries that should heal soon and get them back to form. DF made them look bad but let’s be honest to ourselves, DF would do the same to Dillon, BHP, Woodruff maybe worse.
Oceanside is balanced with good players and a seasoned coach serving as interim. He knows what he’s doing. Oceanside will be in the thick of the 3A title hunt don’t let the score fool you. Like the Oceanside announcers said “Dutch Fork is a different kind of good”. Playing DF will make them better.
