Forget about Region wins for playoffs. Just seed playoffs by the Massey Ratings.

Why would you do that? How you going to not seed based on region finish?

You would do it so you would not have to make up any games. I doubt the SCHL can add more than 2 weeks to the schedule. You could also drop the first round of the playoffs. Too many teams anyway.

I think that he is saying if you wanted to seed it based on the "best team" then what does the Region Standings have to do with anything? I mean, what team would you pick in the pick 'em, the team in 2nd behind Dutch Fork (possibly a 9-1 Irmo) or the Region 6 Champion (at least a 3 loss team and Irmo already beat Carolina Forest 55-7 this season)?

While I can agree in part with that concept, if you are going to do it that way, why even have Regions? Just have Upper State and Lower State and have a scheduler or a computer program that sets up 8 games of your 10 game season.

I think the real reason for regions is to force teams to play each other. You take a team like Dutch Fork. None of their region teams would play them, unless they are forced to.
