BYRNES @ GAFFNEY

Post by 1CANNON »

The 2-3 Rebels head up I85N Friday night for a "Home" game against the 4-0 Indians at the RESERVATION.
Rebels are coming off of back to back wins over Wade Hampton and Dorman, placing them at 2-0 in region play.
Can they make it 3 straight?
The Indians are coming in with an OT win at the Dawg pound over Boiling Springs. Giving them a 1-0 record in region play.
Gaffney starting QB Javin Gilmore will miss the 1st half of this game due to a suspension from the Boiling Springs game.
Who you got? Score?

My first thought is NO. But after all this down time, who knows what will happen? I'm guessing the team that adjusts to all this will be the winner. There have been some lopsided wins in this series in the past 20 years; but that is the exception rather than the rule. This game is usually determined by a key play or two. If they start off rusty, don't be surprised. The team that shakes off the rust first is the likely winner.

They also get starting QB Javin Gilmore back.
For the second half only, right?

I'm going to have to go with the HOME TEAM... oh yeah, which Home Team? Well, you can call it anything you want, but we all know Gaffney is the Home Team....

ps: Are you the guy that was grilling shrimp at the very first home game at the New Reservation?

With a WR playing QB for the first half it could be closer than some think. We just need to get to the second half like we got to OT at Boiling Springs by not taking big chances once our starter was ejected. Both defenses are legit.

The OC will probably use a lot of runs in the first half to keep that clock moving.....

If we are healthy (and we've had some time to get healthy) I will expect a typical outcome of ONE SCORE type game.

Don't be surprised at all if Gaffney don't come out and have a different game plan than most think with a "WR" @ QB might just surprise some on what they have been working on lol

sad part..they could have easily won the game..Gaffney sounded like they were out there just bleeping off instead of playing focused football..tip of the hat to both defenses, the refs, and Donnie’s damn screen calls..5-0 is 5-0 and sometimes you gotta win games like that..but not every other week..I know the the last 2weeks have been difficult for the kids..some worse than others so it did probably pay a part for both teams..just image being a kid with 2 weeks out of of school,no e- learning and you can’t get online to play madden or whatever..bet it was tough..
