Woodruff vs MVP, 10/18/2024

The long awaited game is here. A top 5 3A matchup. MVP is somehow ranked #2 in the media poll despite having zero for a resume or justification for that ranking. And Woodruff is 5-0 and ranked #5 which is disrespectful as we have the better resume and better wins. But I digress.
I do believe Woodruff is the better team. MVP struggled mightily against a 1-6 Chapman team. Chapman led the game 9-6 with 2 minutes to play in the 3rd. Sorry to break it to anyone but we are many light years better than Chapman.
MVP had trouble moving the ball and their "all world" receiver had one catch for five yards in the game. McGill was also contained until very late.
Woodruff meanwhile is loaded on both sides of the ball. Big, fast and athletic. If MVP has trouble sustaining drives (they punted 5 times against Chapman) and the QB starts turning it over (he threw two picks against Chapman) then it will be a long night for the Stars. Chapman cannot throw it a lick. They are one dimensional. Yet Chapman ran the ball on them effectively all night and would just stall out in the red zone. The Wolverines' 6'2" 200 pound sophomore who is averaging 172 yards rushing a game will have a big night if they can't stop the run.
Woodruff is HANDS DOWN the best team MVP will play all season until deep in the playoffs. Woodruff is deeper and more talented in most positions. Wolverines should win if we don't come out rusty from a month off.
Woodruff 38, MVP 27
