Slick: Just got my internet back on this afternoon. Have had a rough time during and after the storm. Went 13 days without power. Lost all my food in the freezer. I had just restocked with meats for the winter months along with all the okra, beans,etc that I had put up this summer. Almost had a window sucked out. Edgefield County had its entire power grid destroyed. I know of at least crews from seven different states that were in the area. It was a crew from Oklahoma that got my street back up.

Wow! Glad to hear he has power back. The upstate was hit hard....

Let him know that we all missed him and glad that he is back! Then tell him to go to www.disasterassistance.gov and use the miscellaneous and he will get the $750 for the food. I deposited my check yesterday.

The assistance for the house is more complicated than the miscellaneous. Insurance must be used first and then you can apply. Fortunately, power out for 6 days and losing all my refrigerated and frozen food was the bulk of my issues. I do have some minor damage to my house; but it would be only just a bit more than the deductible so I'm not even going to file.

The last of my friends got power back after 13 days! Luckily they had a generator to help.
