The Wolverines finish the regular season 8-1 with their only loss by 2 points. We host 4-5 Pendleton in the first round. Pendleton was beset with injuries and have been without N/S WR Abijah Webb since the 4th game of the season. He is a dynamic playmaker but not sure if he will be back for this game or not. Pendleton averages only 24 ppg and Woodruff averages 41.3. Both defenses are comparable but Woodruff has played the tougher schedule overall. Pendleton starts a freshman QB in Jace Grass. He is going to be a good one but not there yet. Bulldogs might hang around for a bit but two much talent and firepower for the Wolverines who will advance.

Woodruff will win this one and will have a good round 2 match up that appears to be against Powdersville!

Got to win first, but a second round match-up with Powdersville should be intriguing. I think Woodruff is hands down better than Powdersville on both sides of the ball, but the Patriots do have some nice playmakers on offense. One at a time though.

Legend will be getting his basketball voice ready after Friday night. Pendleton comes into Varner and shocks the wolverines 24-21 on a last second field goal from 33 yards.

In all honesty, good luck to both teams. Newberry has had some battles with both over the years and I always had great interactions with the fans of both schools.

I see Woodruff rolling in this game. Might be a 42-7 type game.

my favorite animal is a bulldog named pendleton. ferocious enough to eat a bunch of wolverines. pendleton by 30! haha

last win of the season for woodruff. my beloved powdersville patriots are waiting in round 2!! then its bball time. can't wait to hear the kornblut show for that one!! will be better than the MVP game!!!

I live in Pendleton, my kids will be Bulldogs in a few years, and I want Pendleton to have nice things.

At least the new high school is under construction and on schedule.

Any idea if Abijah Webb will be back this week? He is a great player. Hated to see his senior season get derailed by injury.
