Per Lou Bezjak's X post, if they win on appeal, it appears Gray would be the 4-seed, and Airport would get bumped.

Taking a token look at RPI's with no math, I don't think any Region 4 teams would appreciably move +/- relative to Region 5 and 6 teams in the same tiers (3, 4, 5, at-large).

Based on a prior post here last week, North Augusta may get enough of an RPI bump to flip with Hartsville at 1 and 2, but I can't confirm that, so I left those two alone. While the 1 seed would be in line to host the Lower State final, the 2 seed would have an easier path to that game without South/Gray in round 3 (I don't consider Bishop England a threat at 3; any team that gets smoked by Porter-Gaud is not a threat in AAAA).

A revised projection of the AAAA Lower State bracket if Gray gets in (assuming no change at 1-2 / revised records in parentheses):

1. Hartsville (8-1-1)
16. Beaufort (2-8)

8. Darlington (5-5)
9. Gilbert (5-5)

5. South Florence (7-3)
12. Crestwood (5-5)

4. Gray Collegiate (7-3)
13. Midland Valley (4-6)

3. Bishop England (8-2)
14. Brookland-Cayce (3-7)

6. Hilton Head (8-2)
11. Lower Richland (5-5)

7. Bluffton (6-4)
10. May River (7-2)

2. North Augusta (9-1)
15. South Aiken (5-5)

This should have been completed last week because of how it can change the playoffs. Hard to prepare for one team and then if Gray wins the appeal it changes for some teams.

Agree, this meeting likely won't be over until most teams are already practicing for who they think they are playing Friday. I don't see them winning this appeal though.

I saw Gray and NA last Friday. If Hartsville has to prepare for them they needed to start Saturday. Gray is a tough team.

In any scenario Hartsville wouldn’t see Gray until the 3rd or 4th round. The Valley could get ‘em on short notice, though.

With all the crap Gray Cheater Academy has been doing this season, this appeal shouldn’t be an option. It’s not like they’ve had 1 issues, they have their HC and a AC suspended for the season plus a fine, then had to go back and get more fines plus forfeiture of the playoffs.

If the SCHSL even considers letting them back in the playoffs, it’s a big FU to all the schools that aren’t cheating. I don’t think they did enough to punish them for what they’ve been doing. Then to have the nerve to snitch on Irmo. How ironic! Something about a pot and kettle fits here.

Following along on Lou's twitter feed, Gray says they have kids from 16 different school districts. IF anybody doesn't see why this is a problem when they are competing against schools that have SET ZONING BOUNDARIES, they are insane.

Gray, Oceanside, MVP, etc are a parasite to high school sports, feeding on and draining the life out of proud public school programs. I hope the panel does the right thing and upholds the ban and fines.
