OK let us hear your picks. It's playoff time so now is the time to let folks know where you stand. I will start.
* 5A D1/D2: No secret here, my true silver, green, black and gold will shine through. D1 Dutch Fork...TK has taken DF to all 8 5A title games winning 7. This team is undefeated 9-0 outscoring opponents 356-45, (JV team finished 8-0, outscoring opponents 355-46...future looks bright). Irmo is 9-1 and save a late round potential rematch with an undervalued White Knoll team should sail through if they show up, able to rest starters in the second half of most games. Their defense has speed and is well coached. The offense has a solid OL and with the WR, QB, RB combo, one of the most entertaining offenses in the state. Coach Brand worked with Coach Knotts, and his son is a special player. Logic says go with the Upstate- NW, Gaffney, Hanna...but that may be their downfall- throw in Hillcrest and Greenwood...extremely tough path.
* 4A: My brain says Westside. They have a stud QB and a proven team, but my Pickens County Twelve Mile DNA and years spent living in the Pee Dee, make me think about DWD and Hartsville...and never count out South Florence. I want to say Daniel, but Westside is so very strong. Have to wait and see on this one.
* 3A: Sadly, Legend my pick AIN"T Woodruff....I'm going against logic and BHP and going with Oceanside. Well run operation with a coach that knows how to win and a tough schedule to prepare them- peaking at the right time.
* 2A: This one is definitely a toss-up...Clinton, B-L, Thurmond, Saluda, Barnwell, Simmons...I'm going with Fairfield Central. Another team, peaking at the right time.
* 1A:....um, let me think. Not even picking this one is so lopsided.
Let me hear you!
