Please shorten the playoffs! Look at the scores from around the state tonight, there in no reason to put kids on buses for 2+ to 3+ hours to get blown out. It does no good for either team. The number of 40+ to 0 games tonight is insane. Teams losing by 50, 60, in one case 77 points! There’s no reason that should happen in the playoffs.
If you want everybody to get an extra game, let teams that don’t make it schedule an extra game if they want to. The playoffs should be a reward for winning, not a punishment for fielding a team.
I listened to a game where the total yardage different was over 300 yards. That’s after the visitors rode over 3 hours to get here. I’ve seen scores that were 50-0 at the half, why have those games? If it’s ticket money, find some other way to make it.

C.A. Johnson brought 8 people total...2 was with the team. It definitely should be back to 4 if possible and a Bye. Wasn't any money made in abbeville as it has been for the last 5yrs. Terrible region games now 1st rd in the books.

Need to go back to 11 game regular season so everyone gets at least 6 home games. Four weeks of playoffs like we’ve had forever.

I haven't even been to Abb last 6 games and I once didn't miss a game for almost 20 years, recently. These games are so bad, just unwatchable. We did some of this to ourselves by appealing for this 1A classification. Very bad move IMO. The 2A region we were in was not good, but, is far better then the 1A Region we are now in, it's terrible. I'll probably start back this week with Blackville-Hilda, they at least have a decent 1A team. I agree wirh going to 4 rounds in playoffs. Also would like to see some adjustments to the classifications, maybe adding a couple more classes, split classes or whatever..

We have way to many classes for a state our size as it is. That's why some teams had 3+ hour travel for 1st round games. Look, I get the SCHSL claims they want things to be as even as possible, but as more and more mega schools open around the state, it's just not possible to keep doing things the same way. I would say 3 classes, plus an open division where the private/cheater I mean charter schools play plus any schools that want to play in it. Split the classes for playoffs if needed, but you play teams in your class in region. Use RPI or some rankings system to set the playoffs.

I've been saying this for years.... I like the idea of A, AA, and AAA and then split for playoffs. Gives more flexibility in scheduling Regions.

Yeah but Abbeville didn't make any money in the last 2 alignments in 2A so that was 4yrs of that either wasn't many people driving from Landrum to Abbeville. We played Columbia last year it was the same crowd as last night they just had a band last year. With Football being the Cash Cow for the Athletic program. Abbeville has been stuck with terrible region play for 3 alignments. Yeah the drop to 1A hurts but this is what we have ahead. The Student population after this Senior class goes down some more. We aren't just growing check out JV game or Wright. Then Rec league teams only fielding 1 team each age group. That's why we can bring everyone up from JV and still don't have 60 players. I've Always supported Abbeville Sports my entire life. From winning state championship in 1996. I can tell you one thing We are the biggest, spoiled, and quietest crowd in the state of South Carolina. It was so quiet in the stadium last night you could hear the Refs say the penalty. Just look how other communities don't support their school. It will make anyone appreciate Little 1A Abbeville so much more. Always support the kids I have Nephews and Cousins that play so glad to watch them regardless of who they are playing

It will rotate 6 then 5. Some will choose 7 and 4 but it averages out for a two year period. The point is these schools that have to travel so far for butt cuttins would schedule a team more of their caliber in their extra non region games. Everyone is pretty much playing 11 anyway to max out their gate. Let them play a game that would benefit both schools financially and athletically. We used to do it. I miss the days of larger 8 team regions but it’s more difficult now to make that work.
