How ‘bout those Patriots! 9 wins in a row. Tough game 3rd round but it’s nice to be practicing on Thanksgiving.
Final 21-14…could’ve easily been at least 35-14. Props to Woodruff they’ve got some great looking athletes and a really good staff. #32 is going to be a star!

I seen this one coming! As I posted in another thread, ever since the MVP lost Woodruff to me was never the same team! The Legend guy which I understand is a diehard Woodruff fan was not coming on here being honest about them!
Yes, Woodruff was a good team but obviously not in the top 5 in 3A!

The best part of the game for me was that we ran right at them all night. Just kept pounding it up the middle. They were missing their leading tackler, a MLB, and we were missing our LT which is a big deal but his backup had an incredible game. Never saw that coming. Our speed at the skill position showed up once again with a KR for a TD. The icing on the cake was the 5 TO's we forced, 3 in the 4th qtr. Overall they could've had 7-8 TO's. One was fumbled out of bounds, they recovered one of their own and another was picked up by an OL and advanced for a first down. We also stripped them on a play but they ruled the runner was down. We fumbled once at the goal line at the end of the first half that would've been another TD. It was a good clean game. I don't think we threw any INTs. I think both teams had 1 player each that was injured and didn't return but they're both ok.
No knock on Woodruff at all. They are a good team and they have some really good looking athletes. Their coaching staff was very respectful and kept their sideline in order. Gibson the RB (#32) is going to be a super star. Hopefully he doesn't get poached. They have a very good TE as well and #6 reminds me of our skill guys, really shifty and fast. They're young and they'll be back in it next year. I know how they feel. We had one loss in '21 to Chester in the playoffs at our home and it was tough to swallow but we rebounded and played for the state title the next year. But, I stand on what I said back in August or whenever that they would not beat Powdersville. We were called a "good team" but Woodruff would be the best team we'd played and that we hadn't seen anything like they'd bring, yadad, yada. Those kids at Pville have beaten BHP, Clinton, Daniel, Chester, Abbeville, just to name a few. They don't blink. BHP is going to be tough to beat but the Patriots will be ready.

Good game and i agree with your assessment. i actually spoke to wolverinelegend last week and he felt it was going to be an easy win. i told him powdersville had beaten abbeville over the last few seasons and i didn't think they'd be a pushover. #44 lb plays very hard and i saw him get an interception. #13 is lightening fast and took a kick return to the house. powdersville qb's arm angle (throwing side arm) hurt the passing game. he had many passes batted down. He's a big boy and should be throwing over the shoulder.
i don't understand why all the players kept slipping. was told the field wasn't wet. that costs powdersville a td right before half, rb was going to pylon and slipped down. no one touched him. next play qb fumbled stretching out for endzone and woodruff dodged a bullet there. powdersville ran right at woodruff and took the lead 21-14 after the opening drive of the 2h then that was it for the scoring.
woodruff fumbled the ball many times and was lucky to get it back the majority of the time. only looked like 6 for woodruff was a deep threat. the others could not get separation from the patriots. woodruff's qb looked very good but i think he and the entire oline (-1) graduates this year.
good luck vs BHP Friday. should be a good one.

Thanks TIM...#44, #10, and #19 are going to let you know where they are at all times for sure. The QB throws from different arm slots, not sure why, I think it's one of the those things the kids do like trying to emulate the pros like Patrick Mahomes. He's got a big arm when goes over top. I think the week before he had 2 50+ yard TD passes and another 40+ yarder, maybe. He cooks it sometimes on the short routes when they just need to have a little more touch. He's a good dude, nothing rattles him. #13 is a burner but I'm not sure he's the fastest on our team. We've got 6-7 that can score from anywhere on the field and 2 of them are out injured. Injuries have been a killer for us but they've found a way to grind it out. About the field, it wasn't wet but it does get damp as the evening goes on. The area you're referring to is a little more soupy. It's where the field begins to drop lower for the long jump pit on that sideline and there's a sprinkler head in that area. That corner over there gets a little mushy. I asked one of the coaches about them being younger and that they'd be back in it next year. He replied he hoped so but they were going to need more OL. I was kind of surprised they didn't look like a very big team number wise. Max Preps says their roster is 55 but it seemed like less than that even with the kids not dressed out. Regardless, they are a good team and if they can hold onto #32 he's going to take them to the top.
