Greenwood @ Northwestern

Yes, Northwestern is clearly the best or 2nd best team in the state but I hope the Eagles show up to play. Last, year they let up and gave up during the 2nd quarter. I don't mind taking a lost to a good team if you give full effort for 4 quarters. The coaches got to get them mentally prepared for this game. We got to play up and cover well and wrap up well. Kick off coverage need to do better. We need to help each other to get the play down.

If I remember correctly, last year the QB had been suspended prior to this game. Of the last 2 years it seems weather was an issue as well - playing on a Saturday and windy the next year. It seems to me Greenwood is increasingly improving year over year. I don’t know what to think about this years Greenwood team, but they have won a lot of games and beating TL Hanna has my attention. This is not vacation week for Northwestern.

Pretty dang good defensively, but offense is suspect since they don't have a QB

Glad to see G.Wood getting back to the standard they used to be, however NW is the Standard for HS football right now and this game will be over before the half!

This reminds me of 2003-2005 when the Rebels were still in 4A Division II. Everyone wants to see Northwestern -vs- Dutch Fork! Well, get over it, and focus on what you will see.

I expect this to be a close game at the beginning and then one of two things will happen. Northwestern scores on a big play of some sort and then gets a 3 and out and another score or a turnover that breaks it open. I think this will be along the lines of Doodle projection of 21 point win by the Trojans but I wouldn't be surprised if Greenwood has to get a score late to get to that 21 point margin.

Greenwood has gotten better, and that is a good thing. Have seen both teams play and just don’t think Greenwood is consistent enough offensively to play with NW

The defense is solid when they want to play ball and the coaches cut them loose.

I just feel the coaches going to very timid at first which you can't be against solid teams like Northwestern. Now, if they come out against Northwestern like they did against Gaffney during the scrimmage then we might have a good ballgame.

We show signs to be a really good football team but we end up being too conservative when we need to keep pushing and mixing up plays.

I actually believe the QB is decent and is getting better. Very athletic, fast, and has an arm. Just have to block and give him some time.

Two things are for sure about this game. 1: I will be there. 2: It will be C.O.L.D. hahahahahaha

Those coming up from Greenwood, be safe traveling on a holiday weekend!
