LAMAR, S.C. — Cory Fountain knows there will be nerves when he steps out on the field for his first game as the head coach at Lamar. Fountain, a former Silver Foxes standout, replaces hall of fame coach JR Boyd and will coach his first game Aug. 22 when Lamar travels to Mullins. “ I will probably throw up in the trash can somewhere,” Fountain joked. “But I am proud to represent my alma mater as a coach and try to make a difference in these kids’ lives.”

Other new coaches in the area include Lake City’s Terrell Fleming, Chesterfield’s Chris Arnoult, Hannah-Pamplico’s Al Calcutt, The King’s Academy’s Keith Rogers and Pee Dee Academy’s Jonathan King.
