Overall it was a good high school football game. York was very poised and did what they needed to do to come back to win. Hats off to them.

I am very optimistic about this season. York should have been blown out. We were up 34-17 at one point. Running backs have to hold on to the football. 3 fumbles all turned into scores for York. At the same time we have to use our strength which is passing the football. York had absolutely no answer for Ky'Jon Tyler. They had no safety help. We should have just kept throwing the ball. We also had a lost possession on a bad call by the white hat, blowing his whistle after York tried to make a fair catch but dropped it and a clear recovery by Sumter. But we went toe to toe with the so called no. 4 team in the state and should have beat them by at least two scores. Defense was ok, and will only get better. We should be a better team when we play Crestwood next week. I believe our non region schedule is among the toughest in the state and we will definitely be ready for region play. I might have given South Florence the edge over us, but after how we played today, as long as the defense gets better and we clean up the fumbles I think we will run the table.
