Some games I like this weekend....

Westside -vs- Easley
Hillcrest -vs- Greenville
After last weekend's barnburner, Westside is in the driver's seat in Region One. Win out and they are the Region Champs. Has Coach Earley's team bought in to his game? Or will they be the team that lost to Woodmont? We all know which team ESHMeanGreen wants to see... and how will Hillcrest respond after what had to be a devestating loss last week? One slip by Westside and the Rams are back in the Region lead...so they cannot let up against an up and down Greenville team.

Dorman -vs- Spartanburg
Well, anyone who lives near Spartanburg County knows that these two do not like each other at all. Dorman is probably as primed for an upset as they will be all year. They've knocked off the team that most of us had already pencilled in for a repeat trip to Columbia and no one is looking ahead to Haloween night when Byrnes comes to the U, (yeah, right). Can the Vikings play an almost perfect game and pull the upset?

York -vs- Gaffney
After taking two entirely different paths to this game, York looking great then stumbling last week while Gaffney started off 0-5 before looking much better; what can we expect here? Has York been exposed or was Northwestern just a bad night where nothing worked for the Cougars? Will the Indians be able to put enough points on the board to keep up with York? Don't think we are looking at a 7-6 final score here...

Blythewood -vs- Spring Valley
Winner has a shot at the #2 spot in the Region while the loser may be on the outside looking in come Bracket time..

North Augusta -vs- Lexington
Irmo -vs- White Knoll
Lexington is not the team you are used to when you think of Lexington. But then again, has North Augusta shown us a whole lot? If they win here, the #1 bid from the Region looks like a given, but a Lexington win and this region is wide open. White Knoll has some wins over... well, Mama said if you can't say something good, don't say nothing at all.... Poor Irmo fans, what has happened? Is the band still as great as it used to be?

South Florence -vs- Sumter
Conway -vs- West Florence
SF and Sumter playing for the Region Title!! Hey, you were thinking it, I just had the guts to put it in writing! Yeah, they have a bunch of games left, but the winner is almost the region champ by default {it's kind of like being a little bit pregnant}. Conway win and Go Tigers and Tigerific can start thinking about a trip to Goose Creek in Week One of the playoffs. WOW, some "prize" to win!

Fort Dorchester -vs- Summerville
GOBIGGREEN, it's in the bag! I'm officially telling you, I picked the Pats in the pick 'em here on this board and the pick 'em we do at work, so you can start celebrating! But in all seriousness, Fort Dorchester has to be favored by at least 7.5 points, right? They are the better team?? But, remember last weekend when 5 of the top 8 college teams in the AP Poll lost to teams they were favored by at least 7.5 points......

Well we might not make much noise this year but we are setting up for a good 3 to 4 year run again with the talent coming up. Can't see any farther than that but the varsity team is fairly young and the JV team is very comparable in talent to the teams that went to Columbia. Again the key is learning how to win and finish games again. We always used to expect to win every week but kinda lost that edge. I really believe a win tonight and this team could take off and win the region. Call me a crazy fan but I know the teams in our region and I know how good this team can be. Fingers crossed! :D

 :P ....I feel so much better now knowing Laprad is going to blow it again but really feel for DFactor. I enjoy reading his posts online and when the Patriots are losing he gets pretty down. However, he has stated that he will leave the board when Fort D finally knocks off Summerville (at least I think I remember reading that somewhere). The streak dates back to 2001 and the Patriots are bound to pick up that elusive win eventually. So for my own selfish reasons, I hope we continue to beat Fort D for another 13 years. I definitely do not want to see a Patriot victory on John McKissick Field tonight.

York played a easier schedule to begin the year & Gaffney played a tougher schedule to begin the year. They are pretty much the same & a 7-6 game is highly possible because the strength of both these teams is defense. I didn't say they were good, but they are better than the offenses they bring. ;)
