I just started working on them, and there are going to be some big changes from last week.
Questions already asked of me:
What does Spartanburg's win do to Region II? The long and short of it, basically not that much other than final seeding for Dorman may slip one or two slots. Win out and Dorman will still get the #1 Bid from Region II. A three way tie (Dorman, Byrnes and Spartanburg) would go to points, and Dorman point total looks to be the higher of three, and if Spartanbur slips up and it ends up a two way tie (Dorman and Byrnes) the Cavs would have the head to head. Byrnes wins out, they are the outright champs. If the Rebels lose two and it ends up a two way tie then the Vikings would be Region Champs due to head to head win over Dorman. The Rebels have JL Mann, Mauldin and Wade Hampton in addition to the Haloween visit to Roebuck.
Gaffney's loss to York was included in last week's projection, so that loss changes nothing.... except, now Gaffney has to beat Clover to make the playoffs.
It is beginning to look like Goose Creek's bracket location depends on about three teams. Spring Valley, West Ashley and Rock Hill. If all three of these do not qualify for the playoffs, look for the Gators in Division One bracket {BASED ON THE BEST INFORMATION WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET FROM THE SCHSL!}
I'll be looking at it at lunch today, but don't expect the same look as the bracket from last week, that is for sure.

Re: Projections for Week of 10/13
Prior to last week's games, I would have never thought Clover would have any chance to beat Gaffney this year. Now, I would rate this game at least a toss up. Clover is very hard to prepare for in practice. At least Gaffney has a bye week to help them prepare. On the other hand, Clover is a program on the way up and Gaffney seems to be a program almost to the point of total disarray and certainly on the way down. If pressed to make a decision at this exact moment, I would take Clover, strictly on the intangibles.Rebel-Fan-74 wrote:I just started working on them, and there are going to be some big changes from last week.

Rock Hill is the Jekyll & Hyde team of the last few weeks. I think their best will be 1-2 over the last 3 weeks with their only victory coming over Nation Ford. Even that might be a reach at this point.
Of course, the games are played on the field and not on paper or on the internet

Re: Projections for Week of 10/13
Well.....
Here are my latest guesses { I mean Projections } for Region finish:
I will break down each Region below the chart:
To save room and cause less confusion, please don't quote this whole mess.... if I change the pictures, we'd have two versions going... Thanks!

Region One: I'm taking the Westside win as a bad night for Hillcrest, and that Hillcrest will win out, and that Greenwood wins out, leaving Westside and Laurens winner at #3 and the other settles for the #4 spot.
Region Two: The comments in the beginning of this thread go into the details, but I'm going with the Rebels this week...
{ yeah, my new name is HOMER }
Region Three: Northwestern, York and flip a coin... This one could go down to week 11 to determine #3 and #4.
Region Four: Dutch Fork, and then Spring Valley, no scratch that, they couldnt' beat Blythewood, so I'll buy some Westwood stock this week... and Blythewood sneaks back in at #3 due to that big win over Spring Valley.
Region Five: North Augusta, then White Knoll, Lexington, River Bluff all tied for #2 and #3 but only two get automatic bids. Lexington makes it with points, White Knoll and River Bluff { especially River Bluff } need the automatic bids due to "schedule issues".
Region Six: Right after I buy into Conway.... oh well. South Florence took a BIG step toward the Region #1 bid and still has a shot at Home Field through to Columbia... still at #3 for now which means a trip to North Augusta would be the only playoff road trip!
Region Seven: Goose Creek may like this version of the bracket better than anyone.... but we will get to that in a minute.
Region Eight: Well, unless Fort Dorchester gets caught doing something immoral, illegal or just quits, they may have their first Region #1 and OVERALL #1 seed in........ forever?
So that would give us the following brackets: (Note: the #5 Seed in Division One) This is based on the best information that I can get from Coaches, the SCHSL web site, etc. I still am not convinced that the information we have is the "OFFICIAL" list.

Division Two:

That just shows you how much can change in one week's worth of games...

How could Dorman finish ahead of Spartanburg unless there is a 3 way tie for 1st? If Byrnes and the Vikes win out, they would finish 1-2.

No joke, Dorman/DF in the 2nd round to play for a trip to Nixon. FD would not want to see the Indians in the 1st round. I actually think that bracket sets up well for the Trojans.trojangrad78 wrote:WOW!!! Let me say that backwards, too....WOW!!!

Very interesting!!!!!! I love all the "what if" scenarios. It makes this time of year sooooooooo interesting. Throw in a few upsets and.....you just gotta love it!ByrnesRebels05 wrote:No joke, Dorman/DF in the 2nd round to play for a trip to Nixon. FD would not want to see the Indians in the 1st round. Weird year too, because there is a bunch of really solid teams and really awful teams, not too many in between.trojangrad78 wrote:Very interesting!!!!!! I love all the "what if" scenarios. In Region 6 I pick West Florence winning the region with the return of Goodman and do anybody know what seed they could get if region champs?
