Everyone agrees that 32 teams in the 4A playoffs are a joke. Friday night will show us again a slew of blowouts.

Here are the average margin of victory in the 1st round of the playoffs over the past 5 year.

2013 = 27.15 average margin of victory (10 of the 16 games were greated than 30 points)

2012 = 24.13 points Margin (7 of 16 more than 4 TDs.)

2011 = 20.13 points Margin (7 of 16 more than 4 TDs.)

2010 = 22.45

2009 = 27.66

So rest up this week it is gonna be a slate full of nail-biter, 4 td blowouts Friday night.

I 100% agree that there will be a ton of blowouts, but if we were so concerned with blowouts then nearly half the season shouldn't be played for some of these teams.

I guess last year's 4A Division I title game should never have been played, either. ;)
Dutch Fork- 54 Sumter- 14

What this weeks games are about....."is" those few games that will be close and maybe one or two surprises.

I agree that the best part of the playoffs begin next week...but it doesn't mean that this week shouldn't be played.

Really like your website, it's awesome! :mrgreen:

Gaffney fans may not agree with that either. As a matter of fact, #16 is getting about as many votes as #1

This year looks more competitive.
Dutch Fork vs Mauldin is the only game I see with over a 21 point margin.
the rest will probably be 14 points or less difference.

If the game was at Sumter but in Summerville we get the edge :mrgreen:.

Well, we did have a #16 over a #1 and it wasn't the one we thought....

That is why the playoffs are NOT bloated and inflated. Could we use some tweaks, yes! But let the teams play!
