#1 - WOW! Did we move to Alaska?
#2 - This had to be the worst excuses for officials I've seen at a High School game. Not questionable, just out right biased. I can say that I've seen questionable, and those are the kind where one team thinks it was a good call and one thinks it was a bad call. This was just horrible calls and one referee made it personal. He was yelling at an assistant coach and pointing at him... I really believe that if the game tape is reviewed this crew will not call another game all year.
#3 - Boiling Springs with Daniel Thompson is a much better team that the #14 seed. Had he not missed all those games, I think they could have made some noise in Region II.
#4 - Rebels were cold in more ways than the temperature tonight. I thought our play calling tonight was strange at times. We ran so many screens to the WR and soft passes to the RB in the flat, even though the running game looked great in between the tackles.
#5 - EHS Mean Green came up to see us, got him to several Rebel Fans, one of whom I had never met myself!
Now it's on to next Friday and Northwestern!

I can vouch for the Rebel faithful on this one,Rebel-Fan-74 wrote:#2 - This had to be the worst excuses for officials I've seen at a High School game. Not questionable, just out right biased. 1. Pass Interference in 2nd qtr on 3rd down play allowed BS to extend a drive, 2 plays later TD for BS.
2. Boiling Springs linemen were literally tackling the nose guard for Byrnes a good portion of the night. I don't recall one holding call for it the entire game. The worst example was in back to back plays, Nose guard for Byrnes was basically horse-collared when approaching the QB with no call and then next play the NG was called for a facemask(hands to the face) trying to beat a double team.

Officiating aside....Rebel-Fan-74 wrote:#3 - Boiling Springs with Daniel Thompson is a much better team that the #14 seed. Had he not missed all those games, I think they could have made some noise in Region II.
I thought Daniel Thompson and Boiling Springs played a good game. The 3rd quarter TD pass by Thompson was a tremendous play. All kinds of pressure on Thompson making him roll away from the rush and he dropped one in the bucket. Excellent throw and catch by Boiling Springs on that play.
It isn't hard to imagine Boiling Springs winning a few more with him healthy all season.

Nearly an entire quarter without throwing the ball more than 2 yards down field. (Self Scout)

Byrnes running game was strong, you got the feeling on a few plays that BS didn't like trying to tackle #23.
Might have been hurting in the cold...

It was so very nice of you guys coming over to Bomb Squad Alley and visiting with my wife and I. 74 please invite Mean Green back to Nixon next Friday night for a treat. There should be a GREAT crowd for the game from both fan bases. Brother it doesn't get any better than Byrnes vs NW maybe we can do a meet and greet before the game. You guys are welcome in Bomb Squad Alley anytime, and hopefully Mean Green we can convert you to Byrnes being your secondary team. Again it was a honor to meet both you gentlemen.
