Summerville 30 - Sumter 14 FINAL

Good win for Summerville as Sumter came ready to play but Summerville was not going to be denied from moving on for the 2nd year in the row by Sumter. Below is a recap of the entire game so I will not rehash what is in the article. Summerville relied heavily on it's ground attack and mixed in some passing when it had to. They also used a two headed approach for the QB position with both Bridges and Coccoli taking snaps. Man, Coccoli is just fast and tough. I had to find him after the game to congratulate him on an outstanding effort on his part. Defensively we primarily played great minus a couple of plays. #23 Kyjon Tyler is just fast. He busted us for two long receptions and passed for another long play for Sumter. We were up 20 - 7 with 1 minute 30 seconds remaining in the first half when Tyler caught a 64 yard TD pass that pulled the Gamecocks back to within 6 at 20-14. Summerville's D stepped up in the 2nd half shutting the Gamecocks out and putting 10 on the board for the final score of 30-14. Congrats to Sumter on a good season and to Summerville for picking up the win setting up an epic rematch with the #1 seed Fort Dorchester Patriots!!! Talk about a huge game. This game will be a sellout. Plan to get there early or you may just be left out....
